You’re welcome Wan.

By the way Bumpa usually provides me the odd idea for my long plays, like AAZ then leaves when he’s made his 10-50% returns, leaving me to buy the low and ride the dips....just saying; trading unless you have such as inside track, DMA, real good brokers etc is a mugs game that the sharks feed on.

Don’t ever swallow Guru’s hype would be my humble advice but Tony C is a good commentator if nobody has mentioned it, nobody ever calls it right all the time, anyone who proclaims to do so is a trucking liar.

Thanks genuinely wish you all the best of luck Wan,

Seems you have attracted a few sensible posters clicking through a few pages. Funny, last time I noticed you, I thought you were a complete nutter with verbal diarrhoea on the other AAZ thread and said as much to Bumpa, but you must have something for him to entertain you, because he can be a vicious git when he wants to be :)

Cheers

Edit: Wan as it’s Christmas and the markets shut odd days, get Free Capital by Guy Thomas on your Santa list. It’s the U.K equivalent of Market Wizards stateside.

"The Sage of Omaha" reference at the end of my post, is a phrase often used in the press when refering to Warren. He was, a few years back battling with Bill Gates for the title of the worlds richest man.

Warren has since given over 30 billion dollars to charity, and is still one of the wealthiest men in the USA.

conundrum, those are scary words for a newbie like me, but, hopefully I'll be ok :-)

Great WB advice, thanx for posting the link.....

Vintage Value Investing
Experience is the ultimate key to be a successful investor.

1. Diversification isn't always a good idea
Buffett waits for opportunities to buy good stocks, and when those opportunities come his way, he takes full advantage. According to Buffett, "When it's raining gold, put out the bucket not the thimble."

2. Invest in yourself first

3. Trust yourself to be a successful investor

4. Only make investments that you understand
If he's not able to understand it in 10 minutes, he moves on to evaluate another company on this basis.

5. Make sure you choose the right news to focus on
Buffett believes in the 99-1 rule. Most investors take actions based on 1% of the financial news they consume.

6. Buying a stock of a company is buying a part of a business

7. Learn from your mistakes and move on

8. Don't be a day trader
"If you aren't willing to own a stock for 10 years, don't even think about owning it for ten minutes."

cheers Wan

"When a person with money meets a person with experience, the one with experience ends up with the money and the one with money leaves with experience."

Sucsesful investors don't all play the market the same way. We all have different personalities and skills, so it is good to reflect on many different approaches, before hopefully finding a way that works for you.

Howdo Bumpa,

So this is where you hang around now? Only really look in occasionally just happened to press the wrong AAZ thread. Anyhow only posting here to ask if our old friend is ok? Think I’ve lost both your email addresses and last I heard he’d go5 a bit of a serious op looming. If you still have mine ping me an email if you know.

See you’re in full on trader mode.

Wan, you’ve picked a good ally to learn from here ;)

welcome Adam, exit plan, TBH no, not really!!!

I know,,,, 'fail to plan is to plan to fail' and all that, but, honestly I haven't really... .......... :-)

Right now I think TXP, ORM & AAZ all have great long term prospects, should the metrics used to determine that view change or they keep falling,,, then my desire to hold them will change, but no, I'm not sat here thinking I'll sell TXP at 30p or ORM at 20p or AAZ at 250p etc.....

Please, do share your exit strategy if you wish,,,, although,,, I fully understand should you wish to keep that to yourself....

Thanx, cheers, Wan
