Redtrend, in the market sentiment keeps changing...and when you have a considerable holding and not being able to keep a close eye on doings, makes change of mind a common action...
I am sure Matt is here to stay and see the £1 per share when it comes.
AAZ will be a £100m company. Only patience needed.
(That is my believe any way)

The main issue picked up by zhockey was the complete 180 u-turn. If you had been somewhat sceptical prior to your post, fair enough. But your post raised issues others had stated previously, that you bullishly counter-argued, only suddenly to be of a concern post selling on no "new" news at the time to merit such a u-turn.

If you were overweight and don't have time to keep an eye on AAZ fair enough, but that was not your original reasoning for selling, rather quite a scathing critique on "duff" locations and the BOD to cut the BS

zhockey .... why should I not?

I've got a very short window of time when I'm actually in the UK & in the office before travelling again. That means I can put in a little more time here this week.
If the result of my actions is that the majority of my shares remain as along term core holding and the ones I dip in and out of are profitable in that action then, in effect, it's lowering my average buy price for the holding.

If that pans out then, I'm not going to grumble about it. Main thing is I would rather not run such a big holding for extended periods when I am away from the UK & away from seeing what's going on generally. I've learnt that it makes me anxious about it & that is distracting - My priority is my day job as I do have a company to run & try to grow.

Matt, It appears that after you post sell off rant last week you are now looking to bottom fish back in? That is not exactly cricket is it?

Price action in gold is very nice. We need a weekly close over $1,240 to fall outside the current pennant. Then it's a battle at $1,264.

If we beat that the dollar will be breaking down under 99 and the dollar yen under 111 and the sky is the limit!

Good action in price of gold. Despite a necessity to raise rates, the USA has to somehow get the $ down. All this cobblers in the media about Trump, Russia etc. Could just be a show for all we know.BOE must now be regretting their last rate drop .. was entirely unnecessary and they may be well behind the curve by year end if they do nothing.Maybe inflation will slay deflation this year .. or maybe not. Still looks finely balanced but, given the central bank fear and hatred of deflation, I suspect they will risk inflation getting away from them to ensure avoiding deflation. By start 2018 we could be back in a 70's inflation spiral ... in which case gold will be clear past all time highs. It's a fascinating period and feels like we are perched on a watershed period to me.

Yep. q1 gold production will be down. Will be interesting to see how much, state figures dont account for all of the gold. Will also be interesting to see if revenue with gold price and other metals is significantly down or not. rising gold price still a big positive

The company and Bill Morgan in particular are normally very quick to reply to emails. Nothing as yet which is very unusual.

No zhockey, you're getting confused. They haven't been exercised. It doesn't help that matt thought he'd seen a trade which would account for a sale to cover the costs but the RNS reads that the sale will only be made from the shares taken through the options.
Which of course makes sense in case they don't exercise the option.

But as I said at the time, its confusing.
Why do you need to detail the actions the directors will take i.e. will buy on the day before expiry if above a certain price but won't if below that price? Surely that is the approach taken on most options and most companies don't plaster it up in a RNS.

fwliw, guess we all would appreciate knowing the production stats to end Feb. for gold via floatation and copper/silver concentrate at earliest opportunity; i.e. not wait until some way into April for qtrly release.
Moreso, obviously, an explanation [Grades] for low gold stats that have seeped out so far
Not holding breath.

Zhockey.
RNS:
hxxp://www.angloasianmining.com/scripts/php/rns_viewer.php?id=25437936
Issued 17Jan17

So they exercise their options to buy the shares 26jul17 if the share price =>13.5p

Seems fairly innocuous to me; significant but certainly not huge volumes/dilution.
