You have to ask the people who did not have a Silver Soon in their mouth. I was personally born in a middle class family. Though I left home at the age of around 17.5 years. To get fourter education !! I did not do that until at a later date. I was young and wanted to enjoy my freedom from a reasonably strict life of a youngster. It is a long story Wan. In the end I did educate myself. When burden of marriage and married life made me think again. I worked as a bus driver for quite a few years. Here I am today.😜 |
Exactly cmb, how many have the guts to do that!!! |
Yes Wan' opening any small businesses carried risk opening it. To get a loan from the bank I had to put my house on the line !! Lucky for me the bank manger at the time understood my plan. Other wise I would have continued from home. I started off by doing service work for electronic shops that used to do repairs for home appliances from home. I was of a few who knew how to use an Oscilloscope in electronics engineering. First thing I did was to borrow money from the bank and buy best class test equipment before I set up my business from home. |
I admire people who take personal risk to create profitable businesses, creating jobs and tax revenues for the country... Especially those who actually manufacture in the UK, more so than service businesses who have their place, but could not survive without those that invent, create, manufacture and sell their products worldwide!!! Good on you all for putting your necks on the line for the rest of us :-) Cheers Wan :-) |
Some very exciting intelligent debate has taken place on this thread gents. Thank you all. |
thanx jb2, appreciate the L2 heads up :-) :-) |
Meanwhile... back with the important stuff. Already only 2 MM's quoting for 10k of stock below 115. Tightened again today. 2 @113.x Next one over 118! |
agree 100%. Just as printing money debauches currency so too printing degrees debauches the worth of a degree. Most of them should never have been altered from Technical Colleges. Now we have a surplus of youngsters with pretty worthless degrees but a sense that having a degree entitles them to something more and at same time, next to zero decent tradespeople. It's tradespeople who can earn far more now than most of the graduates can. |
I'm not a boomer and I'd blame student debt on Blair before Thatcher.
it was actually the Universities themselves that approached Blair, as they were being left behind by the US and elsewhere |

OMI still rising on stunning gold grades 76.3m @ 7.24g/t Au (from surface), 107.05m @ 6.22 g/t Au (from surface) etc.
"In some nine weeks (including the Christmas break), and less than 1000m of drilling, we have moved Pepas from a concept to one of the most exciting exploration stories in the gold space." |
Thiopia, I'm not a boomer and I'd blame student debt on Blair before Thatcher. It's not the old Etonian studying land economy at Trinity Hall that suffers from student debt but the poor kid from Hull that's told a degree in hospitality or media studies will help them. Exploited by the blob again, but it doesn't matter if they come out £50k in debt, as long as they are indoctrinated to think Thatcher is to blame then it's £50k to support the blob. |
Yes Jasper, everyone at PXC is working flat out to secure the funds that will enhance shareholder value at Phoenix. That is the aim, we are confident about it, but also think it important to deliver results, not promises. With copper, gold and silver strong, and China imposing restrictions on the export of key metals, there has never been a better time to bring a US poly metallic asset into production. So we are fired up. |
Many thanks all for your continued support of the thread this week,,, I wish you all a great weekend,, Cheers Wan :-) |
Surely news from PXC has to be imminent.
Donald? |
Lovely, now can anybody recommend a copper miner, with a ready made processing plant and mining fleet with at least 3 billion USD in resource. |
Big move. Surely news from Gilar has to be imminent. |
A prime example of the MSM missing out a few details. USAID being cut and BBC all over the humanitarian bit however USAID weirdly funds 90% of Ukrainian media now why would they do that? What else does USAID actually pay for round the world that may influence other countries. I am sure the Yanks were up in arms at the thought that Russia maybe interfering via the media in their election yet in Ukraine the US runs the media! I could not be bothered getting an article to prove that just type it into Copilot or whatever AI you use. |
