Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri commented,

* "I am delighted to report that following a very strong performance in Q4 2017, Anglo Asian has delivered full year production at the very top of its published forecast range.

* This is a considerable achievement in itself, but when taken together with the recent expansion and production optimisation initiatives put in place and commencement of production from Ugur, it is clear that 2017 was an overwhelmingly successful year for Anglo Asian.

* The almost halving of net debt in the year is also a significant achievement as the Company returns to financial health.

* "Anglo Asian is continuing to lay the foundations for long term sustainable production growth and to deliver value to its shareholders.

* Mining is expected to recommence at our main open pit at Gedabek in the near-term together with the installation of a second, dedicated crusher line for the flotation plant.

* These should significantly enhance our production profile throughout 2018. I look forward to providing further updates on forecast 2018 production and expansion and exploration objectives in the coming weeks."

Operational performance anticipated to be further enhanced in 2018 due to..

* Recommencement of mining operations from the main Gedabek open pit in Q1 2018

* Recommencement of flotation processing, independent of the agitation leaching plant, following installation of a second, dedicated crusher line targeted for Q2 2018 - this will increase processing capacity significantly

imagine they would also have had to make a down-payment on the new crusher in the Q so, cash generation better than first appears

I got some through HL and also bought some TAP and both transactions have been reported twice. So there was only one 20,000 buy.

Some mainstream media visibility would help the price.

Very good news, $16.3 million debt reduction is impressive.

I will have to top up on any dips, which is not looking likely, but you never know, this is aim after all

I suspect its temporary rota.
They're just nervous about where to price it.

It was the same last week, ultimately if you pay, you can get the shares

I got 20,000 at sub 44 so am happy with that top up. Someone else did the same thing at the same time: don't know why the MMs will sell 2 lots of 20,000 at 44 but not 40,000 at that price. Should get a discount for buying in bulk! This is only going one way, fantastic announcement.

Well said loafofbread

Oh so cheap. Debt is effectively done now. I suspect it will be restructured before the next payment due in February, probably close to the due date, to push out the payments and create free cash flow to pay for all the work. No more borrowing to pay for expansions.

As he says, creating real value for shareholders.
Going to be the best year ever for AAZ... and shareholders.

Yeah you wait mad foetus... drop Brent a line too... he did the same at 36p.

No seriously, we all have to make our own decisions. I'm sure your other irons are as nailed on as this. Could you let us know what they are please?

Edit: Spread tightening... perhaps someone already had them mad.

I tried to buy 40,000 shares and have been quoted 45p to do so. I am sorely tempted but may wait as I have other irons in the fire today.

Profit of $28M on a MCap of $65M (plus $18M debt)?

So $30M on $85M?

Sounds rather cheap.

Good spot Catsick, which gives a conservative estimate of 28m profit for the year we are now in. With all the improvements to come online thus could be much higher

Quality outfit

Very pleased with this

Debt reduced by 47%. The Company had net debt at 31 December 2017 of $18.3 million, a reduction of $16.3 million since 31 December 2016.

Net profit was $6.78m last year so this is an increase of circa 2.5 times from last year's results

We need to calculate a profit projection and a forward pe so that we can tell what the broker upgrades should be when they get round to sharpening their pencils
