almost forgotten about this company and todays rns prompted a quick check up ... good grief. LIM might as well have not even been open for business this year. What a disaster in terms of profitability ... $72m loss before adding in the write down for Depn & Depln.
Iron Ore mining seems a largely thankless task in current environment. They could with finding some other mineral on their estate.
The Labrador Iron Ore Royalty fund would have been a much better long term investment, as I recall saying yonks ago. Pays a nice divi and reliable revenue stream.
LIM looks like it will never be profitable until such time as it becomes a monster in terms of scale or, Iron Ore goes into global shortage, which seems highly unlikely.

Yes, I think 2 years to get it going is something I remember from way back. Need a company to look at 2016 price predictions and decide it is worth buying into.

Of course analysts disagree about growth in demand, they disagree about how much metal is in stock in China, they disagree about whether Chinese internal zinc production will increase. However we are seeing more people saying zinc could be $1.50/lb in 2016 (e.g. Scotiabank, Mohr - $1.25 2015, $1.50 2016, Haywood, Ioannou - 'well North of $1.50' 2016).

Looking good. We need it to stay above $1

Just a slight problem, we are not ready for mining, so it needs to stay above a $1 for years.

Why don't they take on some more UK projects? What's this thing about Iron. Is it because it's easy to process, is that what is holding back Parys?

Zinc 97c/lb on a slow ramp. Zinc "gearing up for a classic supply squeeze" :

The shaft would make a good drop!

I always thought they could make those coloured lighthouses like they have in the Isle of Wright, but using crushed minerals rather than colour sand.

Metal prices will only keep going up so I'm sure Parys will get mined one day.

Just remembered what I posted and deleted it because it was o/t.

Think I said I was never happy when AYM went into Iron, it was a distraction and gives the impression that management find Parys mine development a challenge, which it certainly is and will always be. The company for instance, as far as I can see, has never showed how export of the processed ore would take place, things like ship loading facilities, ore storage, road (bridges) upgrades etc

They need to take the same route as Wolf has done in Devon with their tungsten mine.

I suppose chances of LIM operating this year become more slim with each day passing by.

Minesite article just out:

Registration required but notable points from Bill Hooley:

- essentially a 12 month option with limited downside while they evaluate the economics and update the resource estimates

- if viable, BH reckons 5-6 years to production, and several hundred $m

- good location: right on the railway, 200km to port, looking to sell to Europe, specifically to SSAB who operate at the port

Also comments on Parys Mtn: BH watching zinc prices, although he doesn't expect significant movement till 2016. Meanwhile, Micon is conducting "an overall review"... "there might be some news"

Laserdisc,

O/t Bought ppc at around 20p back in October 2012. Bought more mid 2013. Sitting nicely now. If the drill start early June is successful in one or more of the 4 targets then the price could go well over £1. Would be nice :-)

Link should be working in the header now.

Cheers,
Niels

Short Term Indicators Average: 100% Buy

SEEMS QUITE OFTEN THE BUYS GO THROUGH THE SECONDARY MARKET ISDX 90k of AYM buys on that board today. i do think they somehow interegrate that market with Lse as sometimes you get a trade on Lse then at the same time a trade of differing value appears on Isdx.

Dont know how it all works ,in some respects i think it its done to confuse what is really happening to a stock , on other stocks i have seen them rise when all they do is hide the buys on isdx & put all sells on lse

laserdisc,

PPC might do very nicely should they be successful in some part on this up and coming drill.

Having difficulty adding the link as it just seems to ignore it. Not sure if this is advfn parsing out links.

Will try and get to the bottom of it

that's well thought, for some reason i'd totally missed that parys zinc could be used to galvanise steel in sweden. that makes things interesting and if AYM can get the mine running and start work at parys we could see AYm taken out. I may take advantage of any further weaknesses now as i could do with bringing my average much lower.
