As you say, first of all it IS XD day, so you would expect a fall of maybe 10-20p for that in normal markets. Second, the Dow had one of its biggest one day falls in quite a while, so market makers won't want to be caught with their pants down therefore tend to mark things down/widen spreads to head any potential selling off at the pass. Next, it is a very thinly traded stock, so even a few hundred shares/couple of thousand shares is enough to back market makers off if they don't want stock on board. Lastly(from me at least) it's the trades you DON'T see that you probably need to worry about most: if someone has gone to their broker today in fright and said: sell all my 4000 shares in ASY at best they'll hawk it about/lower the price to try and get a bit of interest to try and fill the order.

OK, so I know a bit about weather but not a lot about shares. Can't see any trades today, is that right? It's ex-d day so you expect a bit of a dip but not this much! So what is going on? Is it mm's playing games or what? What makes them move prices like this when there doesn't seem to be any shares actually traded?

Not that unbelievable - I was able to buy at 497 as recently as July.

I bought around the same time at a similar price but, with respect, the point is that someone paid 680 for them just a week or so ago.

10% wiped off the value of the Company for the sake of under 2000 shares with a value of £10000 ish.

The interims mentioned that Khansaheb sales were down and that trading to date this half were as expected so not sure where this fits in.

An even more promising story on the blog now keith:-

"Khansaheb Sykes deliver dewatering pumps in Abu Dhabi for Wellpoint Dewatering to allow infrastructure works to be excavated for a new city development.

Khanshaheb Sykes scope of work at the project was only to deliver dewatering pumps, as the main contractor was using a trenching machine as the dewatering solution at the project. Khansaheb Sykes to date have supplied in excess of 100 dewatering pumps to the project...."

Khansaheb blog looks promising even though their profits were down in the first half. Delivering the 'first batch of 15 dewatering pumps'. I presume that means 15 are the first batch which would mean a very sizeable order.

Looked at the late trades yesterday, 3 matched pairs of trades each over 5,000 shares but no MM margin (ie prices were the same for each pair). No quite sure what that means?

I did think of buying back but could only buy a few at 6.66 ...and it was only to be the only person in history to have day traded ASY successfully 🙂

Sorry my mistake. That's a bit unusual but worth running off with the money as you say. You may be able to buy back much cheaper if you fancy it although you sound as though you've got quite a few anyway.

My sale was yesterday Keith...couldn’;t resist it ..pure luck as part of my daily routine is to sample liquidity here as ASY behaves v oddly in my experience...saw 6.80 bid fiddled around to find out max size they’d take and then ran off with the money

Did you sell before the results were announced or just after? I see there was another trade of 5k+ at about the same price/time. Perhaps they were the same shares or perhaps they spiked around results time?? Anyway, a good price to sell, but I am hoping they will get gooder.

Good sale but as you sold them , someone bought them from you so there was a buyer in some shape or form
