We've all seen the weather with record breaking temperatures across parts of Europe and in the UK this week. This is the SECOND heat-wave to strike so far this season after the pan-European JUNE heatwave where France sizzled at a record-breaking 46 Celsius. And this is the second time in quick succession that demand for Sykes' cooling/refrigeration/aircon equipment and services will be exponential . This season is lining up surely to be one of the most optimal trading periods they have experienced in recent times. In my opinion, this is going to be an outstanding and highly profitable year for Sykes. All looks very good for Sykes and their shareholders. Especially combined with HEAVY RAINFALLS in June and wide-spread FLOODING in many parts of the UK in JUNE this year which increased demand for Sykes' pumping services enormously. For those with short memories:- hXXps://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/jun/25/uk-weather-flooding-causes-train-delays ALL IMO. DYOR. QP

Have to admit I am beginning to think they might end up with a reasonable summer, not only because of these heat waves but also because of the publicity all of this is getting. However, the first half results won't be that good as the winter was exceptionally mild, nothing amazing in the spring and the UK didn't have any heat until the last week of June. Through all of that period it was dry, so no help from pumps either. Last year, the first half was very good so I don't think there is much doubt that this years first half will be worse which was hinted at in their outlook statement last time. However, Europe was pretty hot in June and things are shaping up pretty well for the summer so hopefully there'll be a reasonable outlook statement September. However, all of this is up against the very hot summer of last year, so maybe not even better than that. Can't see the shares shooting up in the short term, not from their present highs. If they were a bit lower I'd consider buying more.

I was obviously referring to the JUNE heatwave last month when France sizzled in Paris at 45.9 Celsius. QP

The Offer price is an astonishing 770p with Bid at 710p. Share BUYS have been going through mid-market today in the region of 730p up to 760p. Phenomenal recent strength in the Sykes' share price which has rallied from near 400p in January after the year-end small-cap sell-off and now swiftly raced back through last October's 650p highs. Watch this space. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP

Didn't continue for very long! Let's hope there is an underlying upward trend that shrugs off this profit taking. Weather's looking pretty good next week.

we've all seen the news on the box about the weather in Europe. you don't need to be Einstein to figure out just what massive demand Sykes throughout Europe must be experiencing right now for their cooling/refrigeration/aircon services and products. And this is just in June, before the normally hotter months of July and August arrive. Combined with the recent heavy rains and some flooding in the UK this month where their pumping business would have experienced strong demand, it looks to me like June will be an excellent/outstanding trading month for Sykes. all imo. dyor. qp

The UK has been pretty cool up to now but Europe is certainly taking up the slack. I think Europe accounts for 25% of trade. However, the depots are expanding so these record breaking temps should help them a lot. All the publicity isn't hurting either.

Some computer models are showing temps 30-35C over UK by middle of next week with chance of London nudging 100F. All of Europe at least as hot if not hotter. ASY going to start doing some serious trade.
