we've all seen the news on the box about the weather in Europe.

you don't need to be Einstein to figure out just what massive demand Sykes throughout Europe must be experiencing right now for their cooling/refrigeration/aircon services and products.

And this is just in June, before the normally hotter months of July and August arrive.

Combined with the recent heavy rains and some flooding in the UK this month where their pumping business would have experienced strong demand, it looks to me like June will be an excellent/outstanding trading month for Sykes.

all imo. dyor.

The UK has been pretty cool up to now but Europe is certainly taking up the slack. I think Europe accounts for 25% of trade. However, the depots are expanding so these record breaking temps should help them a lot. All the publicity isn't hurting either.

" Heatwave Hell - Europe braced for soaring temperatures" FT p.7 26/6/19

Temperature records look set to be smashed in some European countries this week.

Will stoke enormous demand for Sykes' aircon/refrigeration/cooling services.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Some computer models are showing temps 30-35C over UK by middle of next week with chance of London nudging 100F. All of Europe at least as hot if not hotter. ASY going to start doing some serious trade.

Wonder to myself if globally acquisitive Xylem Inc would ever come sniffing.

Xylem are certainly the Pacman of the water management/services/technology world-wide industry.

I've seen that and don't necessarily agree re outlook. There have been been 'cautiously optimistic' outlooks in the past when the results weren't that brilliant so I am not so sure about reading that much into those words. However, last years first half were good so it was always going to be a hard act to follow. Most of the first half a/c business is done in June, so we shall see.
Also, I know last year went down as an amazingly hot summer but if you look at the figures August ended up an average month with the hot spell petering out during the first week, so they could have done a lot better if it had stayed hot all summer. Hopefully it'll do that this year.

Share price up 55p since Friday so not bad for a starter and I would prefer them to be sensible. It's all down to the gaffer really as he is the one that gets most of the div money. If he wants more it'll be paid out. They paid out a special div of nearly 30% once because he wanted some money to buy hotels. Is he still in the rich list by the way?
