I wonder if this (transfer of majority stake from French(?) holding company to HSBC UK nominee) is to do with Brexit.

Bit of a clobbering. Bad news in the offing, or just iffy markets/clumsy selling?

Why can I buy these shares at 720.65p now with a spread of 720 to 785? Looks like they might take a bit of a dive sometime soon?

Just been offered these shares for 723p from the market. They can't stick to their bid/offer prices surely?

Well. I have seen on the news many massive red pumps - so maybe that's the answer? Is all their kit always painted in blue?

Indeed Nice thing is that if Sykes are there is that the bright blue of their pumps does stand out

It's very small though and does little more than break even most years. They don't seem to be trying to expand it, or at least haven't in the past.

ASY does do fixed installation air con although currently it is only a small part of the business:- Do Andrews Air Conditioning offer fixed installations? Yes, we have a specialist division that provides a full Air Conditioning installation and maintenance service, covering applications from small offices all the way up to an entire building. Wasn't actually thinking of fixed installations. Many people/companies will opt for small units or even shortish term hire instead of fixed installations.

The only thing in that regard is that ASY doesn't have a material fixed installation unit - and so long term if they don't build into that, theoretically could cannabalise the rental business Not a 5 year issue though!

hxxps://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2019/06/28/europes-record-heatwave-is-changing-stubborn-minds-about-value-air-conditioning/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.fa0fc672bfde This is an article in the Washington Post comparing a/c use in Europe compared with elsewhere and likely trends. Have to say, if warming continues the outlook for ASY looks pretty good in the short term and medium/long terms.

great company but (perhaps wrongly) I have sold for a healthy profit today mostly because brexit issues are nowhere near being resolved by our utterly useless politicians and this concerns me

Have to admit the way this is hitting the news it may have a lasting effect on the way aircon is looked at in Europe and UK. The Met Office long range forecast is giving the possibility of further heatwaves moving north from Europe during the next month or two. I think another one this year will certainly get mega headlines. There is no doubt that ASY's European depots have been doing very well indeed and that has now transferred to the UK.
