Indeed. Irosta is a nice Cypriot company for a Russian or Chinese or joint venture to hoover up. I still feel 100m is an undersell, in many respects even more so since the conflict. RY has said it once, not affected by sanctions. We are in a far better position than those who currently have operations. We have a pile nickel and copper, licences and mine plans nearly complete. Buy it off the shelf.

Well done g2

Expect this will be back to 4p the minute Russia pulls out. I dont think they can win this and I think they know it. Either way, AMC rode the wave in 2014 Crimea and it will ride this wave.

RY doesnt need to say anything. Just stay low and under radar, do the deals and get the agreements in place.

Expect the offer is about to be tabled. This asset is a steal for a Russian producer, or possibly Chinese.

Telegraph todayAnalysts warned buyers are struggling to access supply from Russia, a major nickel producer. The LME yesterday imposed new rules on the trading of aluminium, cobalt, lead, zinc and other metals to "maintain market orderliness" as Russia's war on Ukraine disrupts global supply chains. Supply was already tight because few new deposits had been discovered in the past decade.Prices topped the previous record high of $51,800, reached in 2007.The price rise led to a severe short squeeze, with traders who had bet the nickel price would fall scrambling to find sellers in order to close out their positions. There were rumours last night that one producer had lost billions of pounds as it tried to unwind its hedging positions.

A third round of talks between Russia and Ukraine ended Monday without any significant breakthroughs, although Ukrainian officials said there were slight shifts on safe passages for civilians attempting to flee to war-torn country.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said without elaboration that “there were some small positive shifts regarding logistics of humanitarian corridors.” He said that consultations will continue on ways to negotiate an end to hostilities.

Previous efforts to set up safe passage for civilians over the weekend fell apart amid continued shelling. But the Russian Defense Ministry announced a new push Monday, saying civilians would be allowed to leave the capital of Kyiv, Mariupol and the cities of Kharkiv and Sumy.

Russia’s top negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky, said he expects that humanitarian corridors in Ukraine will finally start functioning Tuesday. He said no progress has been made on a political settlement, but he voiced hope that the next round could be more productive.

“Our expectations from the talks have failed, but we hope that we would be able to make a more significant step forward next time,” Medinsky said. “The talks will continue.”

Some of the previous planned evacuation routes actually would funnel civilians toward Russia or its ally Belarus, a plan that Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk called unacceptable. U.K. Europe Minister James Cleverly agreed, saying that "evacuation routes into the arms of the country that is currently destroying yours is nonsense.”

Earlier Monday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed Russia's harsh demands to end the conflict: Ukraine halt its military activity, change its Constitution to include neutrality so it can't join the EU or NATO, recognize Crimea as Russian territory and recognize independence for the separatist regions of Donetsk and Lugansk.

All those that sold need to justify why they sold. But if you've followed the markets long enough you know whenever there is a distressed sell-off its always followed by a bounce back as those stocks that were battered suddenly look attractive and then it's, hang on, this looks cheap now. same old pattern. Same thing will happen with Russian stocks. Watch.

Gotta love the neysayers here, spending endless amounts of time when the company has already told us....

"recent share price movement and press speculation that a potentially interested party has valued the Company at an indicative price of up to GBP100 million. The Company confirms that it is in discussions with a potential purchaser to sell its wholly owned subsidiary, Irosta Trading Limited, for approximately the indicated price."

1. Confirmed there is a buyer

2. in discussions with a potential purchaser to sell its wholly owned subsidiary, Irosta Trading Limited

And most importantly....

3. "for approximately the indicated price." ... 'approx' could be anywhere from 80M to 120M IMO

Current MC: 16.63M so 'approx' 5 bag minimum from here.

#no-brainer

This asset is worth more to a Russian or Chinese bidder now than it was pre invasion. RY has done the right thing. Stay off radar and stay calm. I hope he's maintaining the poker face with the bidder. We don't need to sell unless the offer is right

This stock has crashed 75% in the space of a week due to panic selling. Thousands of punters sitting on big losses. You watch as the same punters start piling back in when the share price goes back up.
