Tele2 has 400,000 IPTV customers adding around 10,000 per quarter. Adding HD "some time next year"
Tele2 Netherlands is part of the much larger Tele2 group, but I can not find any other IPTV in the group.

Another week and another good looking contract win this morning....

Would be nice to get an increased exposure for this company...

It concerns me that the RNS describes this contract win as significant
The order is for a non DVR product, so the cost would be less than £100 per unit. Pioneer already offered an HD product so even if 20% of pioneers customers take up this offer at an additional $5 per month, then the total sales would be less than £1m (£100 x 10,000). £1m is 10 days turnover for Amino.
It is my opinion is that this contract is likely to be worth only £500k pa (7k x £70)
I do not hold a position in Amino

I have been waiting years for this company to gain traction, or a bid to materialise. Finally gave up hope and sold out just after the last negative trading statement. Their unique niche products are being overtaken by standard hardware and open source software projects.

Good luck.

Just seen this on Growth Company:

Internet television (IPTV) provider Amino endured a disappointing first half, but its shares could represent a good buy for recovery as the second half has started strongly.

The Cambridge-based management team, led by CEO Andrew Burke and CFO Stuart Darling, are now upbeat and extremely confident that recent new business wins are a strong indication that spending is returning to the recently depressed sector. The first half was blighted by a 'challenging' performance in the Americas, with customer de-stocking causing a 12% drop in revenues to £12.8m and higher costs dissolving previous profits into a £3.6m pre-tax loss.

The industry had been concerned that the consumer might give up pay-TV during the credit crunch but Amino's customers, 'Tier 2' and 'Tier 3' telecoms operators, happily found people were still choosing paid-for services. 'The recent barren period is freeing up,' says Burke. 'In the second half we've had good wins in North and Latin America and we've signed licenses in Asia Pacific.'

Having reduced the sales department headcount and stripped out other costs, Burke and Darling have taken annual costs down to £13m a year, from a peak of £19m post last year's acquisitions of Tilgin and AssetHouse, and hence expect good things for the rest of the year. 'We expect volumes to go up significantly and, with margins holding up, we expect a substantial improvement in profitability,' explains Darling.

The consensus forecast in the City is for breakeven this year, with the 5.75p of earnings predicted for 2010 putting Amino's shares on a materially lower rating than its immediate peers. Net assets of £27m, including net cash of £8.9m, are only just higher than the company's current market value, adding incentive for value hunters, although the appeal of the shares is still speculative at the moment.

As promised in the IMS, the 1st half results are poor, very poor. However, the Chairman's statement is very upbeat about prospects for the 2nd half. The new CEO has been in office a year now and has used a substantial amount of Amino's cash to acquire two companies. Amino's progress, or lack of it, from here is his responsibility.

Alpharetta US, Salt Lake City, US June 30, 2009: Prime Time Communications, a leading provider of integrated IP-based services, and Amino Communications, the world leading IPTV entertainment solutions provider, have completed a major upgrade program to deliver new expanded HD services to its customers in Utah.

Prime Time, which offers IP-based services to over 10,000 subscribers including 4,000 customers across Salt Lake City's fibre-to-the-home UTOPIA network, faced a challenging schedule to upgrade service to customers of Mstar, the Utah-based internet service provider, which it acquired in April 2009.

With the current MPEG2 stream set to end, Prime Time programmed a rapid two week changeover programme, to convert 3,800 customers to MPEG4 video signalling using Amino's award-winning AmiNET130 and AmiNET530 HD set top boxes.

An intensive communications programme before - and during - the changeover, helped ensure a smooth transition and enabled Prime Time to bring an exciting and expanded new range of services to their newly-acquired customers.

"Our triple play offering has been very well received and we're seeing residents who took just phone and broadband now moving to IPTV services as well." says Bryon Wentzlaff, Director of Sales at Prime Time.

"Amino's set top boxes are proven performers and the transition to HD boxes has been very smooth and well received by our customers. Having the Amino partnership has also helped us increase our HD offering to over 60 channels ? and reduce the overall cost of our package to a very competitive rate," he added.

Amino's Sales Director Western Region Dan Carufel commented: "With many operators considering changing to HD services, this was an object lesson in how to make a smooth effective transition ? and add value to the customer offering. Our high performance MPEG4 STBs are the ideal choice for these programmes and we're delighted to receive such positive feedback from both Prime Time and their customers."

Post 712 sums it up.

Having been Bearish here for over 2 years I thought AMO may be worth
watching again, this trading update puts an end to that.

The company is jammed packed with major holders (97%), with Schroders upping its stake twice shortly before the results and the CEO buying 246K @ 50.5p in Oct 08. In February the IC stated NAV 53p and £14.4m cash. With cost cutting measures et al, H2 should show notable improvement.

Very disappointing trading statement re the first half. Still jam tomorrow and, meanwhile, the cash balance continues to fall, reducing its defensive qualities. The purchase of Tilgin had better work out.

The jump in the share price yesterday was interesting as was the timing of the three trades -40k, 60k and 100k, all indicated as 'sells', which I somehow doubt.

I obviously am double counting somewhere as I've got:

572k free float?

Using the data on AMO's web site + recent RNS:

Schroeder's increase was exactly 600k.Taken at face value that leaves circa 1.7m left, how much of that is in free float is anyone's guess. It will be interesting to see if any further changes (up/down) in holdings are declared which might help to solve this issue.

If what you suggest is true, then it may also suggest that someone is offloading. As how else would Schroeder be accumulating shares without the price soaring?
