Glad JW got us taken out.
Tomorrow might have been a tad painful otherwise! :)

All of which suggests that JW presented the situations in such a way as to lead us to infer that the prospects were better than they actually were. Not saying he lied but certainly an economy with the truth becomes apparent as an alternate hypothesis. Have we heard yet whether he's taken a board position with the new owners?Maybe they'll be a bit reluctant when the reality trumps the marketing?Regards to those that remain in touch Q

Count our blessings AMER were taken out... could you imagine what share price would be in falling market with poo in the mid 40s!?

It's also interesting to see that exports via the OBA are still failing to get anywhere near the "transformational" levels once trumpeted by John Wardle. This month they are barely averaging a piddly 2,500 bopd.

As my sister-in-law says, look for the blessing! Hmm. Yes it could have been worse and would be if now but, it could also have been a lot better. BTW, I took a cue from Lucypoop and bought some Byotrol with some of the Amer money and that's done ok so far. Q

Certainly wont be investing my winnings in Parex, or GTE, two other Latam Oilies I have looked at over the years..

I have to agree with you, EUA is showing me more profit in two weeks than amer did over 14 years (well in that time I could have made more profit but I stupidly thought it was a buy-and-hold - lesson learned!)

Bryet,

EUA Pallidium miner going to get taken out

Kefi, Gold miner being financed by local governments

MNRG, Gold miner in USA and soon to be an oiler in Europe.

All three are fairly safe but do your own!

Update
EUA suspended pending announcement. 7.3p (sat on a 6 bagger)
KEFI high this morning 1.80p
MNRG High this morning 0.80p (top sliced @ 7.4p to pay the bills)

Wish I had sold AMER years ago!!!

I'd imagine the cheque has been sent to the address the co registrar held for your friend - so as a matter of urgency, I'd start off by contacting Link Asset Services. Their details are listed towards the end of the following,

under the section "Request for Hard Copy"

Hi, A friend of mine, long term holder, had no idea about the buyout. They hold their own certificates but it would appear the registrar has an old address so they haven't received any payment. (Their certificate is under Chaco, held a long time and moved house a few times!). Can anyone help with a contact so we can sort this out and he can get his cheque? Thanks in advance.

Frampton7 and anyone else that followed me in to it, it has a long way to go yet, but remember nothing goes up in a straight line! Have you read the research note by ACF research. They value it once the flanks are in place @ 55p, its currently @ 7p!

Moneylender, thanks for the heads up on EUA! Only wish I'd paid attention when you first mentioned it back in November (or whenever it was) instead of letting my money stagnate in this pile of poo! Bought at 3.5 last week so it's currently making up for this disappointment!

LOL Tony

Logic says if you liked Amer and believe the assets and that Geo paid 50p in the £ then one should put proceeds from takeover straight into Geo
Human Nature says not to touch it with a very long barge pole ;-)

It's all over, my friends

and I for one feel it is also

"All Over My Friends" :(
