One word - 'Opportunistic'

Not surprised really bearing in mind the share price performance over the last 12 months.

Interesting that it wasn't one of the usual suspects.

Market will be interesting today. :))

Well all hopes of a nice buyout have just gone up in a puff of smoke. MAU aren't even UK listed, and wouldn't be initially if successful, which makes them unattractive to the mainly UK investor base.

Retrace of Friday's rise on the cards.

Is Sol-1 news so negative that BoD are entertaining this bid? If Sol-1 news good with Platanillo production rising and Indico-2 next why would you even give this the time of day?

"If the Possible Offer includes a share component and is successful, it is M&P's intention to seek a listing on the standard segment of the London Stock Exchange's Main Market within 3-6 months, subject to: (i) satisfying the relevant eligibility criteria; (ii) obtaining any necessary approvals; and (iii) market and trading conditions (including any regulatory changes due to Brexit). Such a listing would enable all of Amerisur's current shareholders to retain shares in a UK listed entity, with a free float and daily liquidity (in absolute terms) significantly in excess of Amerisur's current free float and daily liquidity."

They had to write that as the share price reached 18p at one stage on Friday. Price already fully builds in the offer now so M&P won't like that. My view is that the board had to RNS it so did so in a way without mentioning details (ie the 17p price) so they can generate more interest. This absolutely won't go for 17p, but would expect more news soon about other interested parties.

Ammu....No it wasn't the Merc was two years old. I would never buy a new car as.....a car loses 30% of its value once you take it out of the dealership!!!!

Unfortunately that's for a brand new car. The car loses 30% of its value once you take it out of the dealership and amer is an old workhorse

>>RNS says ‘initial’; Offer. At 12.2p this probably looked good starting point.

What are you on about? it was 17p = 12.5p cash + 4.5p shares

I think the board want to sell up but not at 17p and the RNS on Friday is flushing out other bidders. Don't think AMER would be sold at 17p but do think we will be sold soon for a more competitive price. This offer in isolation would get rejected by shareholders, but it would position more favourably a second offer of say 25p.

Seems odd that they weren't just told to fu*k off with that offer. Maybe this is all about share options after all.

RNS says ‘initial’; Offer. At 12.2p this probably looked good starting point.

Why have they gone public with such a low offer? Easy to beat. Any winning bid must start with a 2.
