So all the share price shenanigans are explained in my opinion.

Driven the price through the floor and then a sale process, with interested non binding arrangement.

Not surprised

One Occidental well produces 22/23,000 bopd. Let’s hope they can sprinkle some fairy dust on Amer’s future opps.

The shale 'miracle' has run its course. Imminent quarterly results will make for bleak reading.
Small/medium-sized independents won't be able to obtain funds required to sustain ops. Distressed assets will gradually be acquired by big oil, who will then [over time] collude to control production and move the price back to more profitable levels.
Current game is transitory.

Rig count in 2H will continue to fall. Also likely to see further caps on flaring in the Permian.

Great find xxnjr. And plat numbers tie up with OBA numbers so confirms that OBA numbers don't include 3rd party oil.

I think Saudi is getting dry - hence Yemen, Iran, shale tech, ARAMCO sale ... - in time to come

many signs are there

dry - meaning less oil, more water, dry for US dollar purchases (why accepting inflated paper - yuan is much better currency....)

fantastic xxnjr - who needs company announcements! Mariposa has so far produced 1.7m. Interesting to see if they revise reserves for this.

Interestingly, I just re-read some of their announcements and spotted what I had not seen before re Mariposa: OWC rose only 10ft after producing over 1MMBO. Total column is 120ft. You can't extrapolate without knowing the vertical shape of the reservoir of course, but we could reasonably expect several more years of production.

Extremely useful Monthly Production Report by Field, from the horses mouth:-

It's updated monthly, with a delay of about 6 to 8 wks.

Field performance of Mariposa and Indico both look robust so far.

Is it not tother way round?
Sanctions are a deliberate attempt to manipulate the oil price up.
That way US can produce more oil than would otherwise be the case.

Bit of a blip in last weeks US numbers though.

US has three main choices. Admit shale is a deliberate attempt to manipulate downwards oil price
Agree a deal with Iran which won't add a barrel of oil to world production as sanctions or no sanctions countries are buying it.

or more likely start a war (another war), in the Middle East or Venezuela to gain their oil.

When this farce that is shale is out of the way, which will be sooner rather than later, there will be a shortage of viable oil as the current 7,000,000bbls of shale oil is no longer on the scene which is a very good reason why the US tries so hard to sell the glut story along with pushing EV's irrespective of the real resource cost.

With forecast demand in the region of 100,000,000bbls a day even with shale it will be struggle. Without it, its a massive shortfall.

Was that 16:38hrs trade a buy or sell? As came read - if it was a buy and by a director I feel positive news next week and headed quickly towards the 20p mark. Remember when we hit 20p we were not in such a good position as we are today. Oil around $61.98pb
