in a small Co three functions are in one person: investor, entrepreneur, CEO.

in a big Co roles are split. sometimes. I am thinking which role at amer is ok, which one needs improvement. as something is not ok the share price is telling me

I like the entrepreneur part of amer

If this is what today’s equity market does to a debt free, cash rich oiler with 1m hectares of prime onshore territory, I dread to think what tmrw’s property market is gonna do to house prices and esp to those in London with £450k+ mortgages on crumbling Victorian 3/4 bedroom terraced houses. Ouch!!

No apologies needed Lauders. If it wasn't for my wackiy sense of humour with this major holding, and 75 years of developing 'patience' I'd have retired from investing years ago. Good fortune to all...especially the brave :)

Apologies kipper62. I hope I am wrong in that patience isn't needed and it does a BIDS or whichever comparison you would like to use. This time it IS different, cough!

Lauders, I see it has taken until 13.22 to roll out that word 'patience'. It is like fingernails on a blackboard to we very long term holders. That 'just around the corner' still seems over the rainbow. (Ah, wait,I think I hear....'but this time is different')

Platanillo (WI 100%): Production Optimisation

The company recently completed the Platanillo-26 infill well targeting an undrained area of the Platanillo field. The well reached the target depth of 9,350ft and encountered 46ft net pay in the upper and lower U sands. The well is now onstream and producing around 710 BOPD. Production optimisation on the field continues with a sidetrack well at Platanillo-22.

I assume that the 710 BOPD could be improved to some degree by the highlighted part above? Those with drilling experience will hopefully be willing and able to clarify please.

With today's positive, for AMER, RNS and muted response I decided to top-up against my better judgement! Time will tell whether it was a wise move or a stupid one. I can't believe patience will not be rewarded here, whether by drilling success or M&A activity down the line.

Lucyp00p,

If that was aimed at me, you don't have to convince me about the board. Been there, got the T-Shirt.

Just that I was hoping for the result we got and I've pretty much given up listening to anything management say outside of an RNS.

Amerisur Resources PLC (AMER.LN) said Tuesday that year-to-date production to the end of May averaged 5,300 barrels of oil a day and that it maintains its full-year production guidance. The South America-focused oil-and-gas company said that guidance of 5,000 barrels of oil a day to 6,000 barrels of oil a day doesn't include any contribution from exploration drilling. The company added that following the successful infill well at Platanillo, its current working interest production is over 6,800 barrels of oil a day.Amerisur added that it has been granted exploration approval on the Putumayo region farm-out agreement with Occidental Andina LLC, an affiliate of Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY), by Colombia's Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos.Shares at 0815 were up 0.32 pence, or 2.7%, at 12.18 pence

An update from AMER this morning which looks very positive but also alludes to more excitement to come. This is partly as the ANH has given formal approval to the Oxy farm-out which gives them 50%in four exploration blocks at a cost of $93m. This covers the exploration and appraisal programme for 2019-2021 including 2D and 3D seismic and 100% of a five well drilling programme. CEO John Wardle is clearly pleased to announce that work has already started on this programme.

Elsewhere, the Plat-26 infill well has been a success with the well producing 710 b/d from 46 feet of pay in the ‘U’ Sands, next stop is the sidetrack that is continuing on Plat-22. There is also good news in the production update which is currently at a perky 6,800 b/d bringing up the yearly average of 5,300 b/d. This includes the Plat-26 infill and CPO-5 production but not current exploration drilling.

At CPO-5 Sol-1 is at TD where logging operations are under way, after this the rig moves to drill the Indico-2 appraisal well so obviously not long to wait but no clues here. Amerisur is clearly firing on all cylinders and with third party crude through the OBA and the Oxy deal now starting to come into fruition the outlook is positive. A successful result at Sol would be good but appraisal of the existing discovery at Indico is also very important whilst the drilling at Platanillo is clearly having very meaningful results. All in all the company is set fair and the share price, like a number of others looks way too cheap.

Updated the header to reflect current production at Plat.

I consider no third party oil transported to be a relief. It has been announced, approved and signed... we know it's on the way. We have also known the quantity of oil being shipped down the pipeline on a daily basis for some time. So if this RNS had declared that 1K bopd of that oil was third party, how would that be good news?

Farmout agreement approval is good, Plat workover is good, everything else progressing.

Nothing world changing, but a perfectly decent RNS.
