Amer is still a massive bargain at 19p and the thought of doubling your money from now till Xmas sounds so appealing.These opportunities don’t come around often so why leave it in the bank gaining a pittance of interest? Worse case 30p but best price could be life changing.

Tyler Durden what is your problem? I have made significant sums out of oil shares in the last couple of years using my stock market expertise. I started about 6 years ago as a novice oil share investor and it didn't start well. However I have learned from other posters and can recognise buying and selling opportunities. You will not find me posting about Platanillo, or offtakes on the HUR board, but corporate deals , takeover situations and trading opportunities are well within my area of expertise to analyse. I have no reason to blag or boast. These bulletin boards work best where people with different backgrounds share their expertise. I had nothing to add to the discussion on AMER until recently - as I say I can't analyse oil assets, production or drilling strategy.

Tyler Durden, just to clarify. I have been a long-term holder of 300,000 AMER shares for about 5 or 6 years having paid a price I will never see again with no prospect of breakeven. Separately since June 2017 I have been building up a CFD position which is now over 1 million shares. My high price was 22.50p but the vast majority were bought after the M&P approach between 16.68 and 17.8p giving me an average cfd buy price of 18.15p. I DON'T EVER POST ABOUT OIL COMPANY ASSETS AS I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OR INSIGHT INTO OIL COMPANIES and am indebted to the high quality posters on ADVFN who do know about these things. However I am a very experienced stock market investor with a greater knowledge of takeover situations etc than most on here so I will post where I think my contribution may be useful. Kinwah is a fairly recent username as I had to change my previous username for reasons out of my control. I am pleased to see the share price going better after last week's RNS and would be delighted if Lucyp00p were to be proved right.

Pauliewonder, corporate deals take time. The presentations and initial meetings have only just happened.I would love to be proved wrong but I think we are 4-6 weeks away from a BOD recommended offer.
