To do so would require access to a huge number of shares 11%.

The BOD's job is to deliver shareholder value (growth) - the business, on everything we know, has delivered, but the shares have not (in a recent interview Malcy suggested CPO-5 was worth 2 to 3 times the current share price on its own). The BOD need to address whatever is holding back the shares, whether it be politics, manipulation, lak of delivery to business plan or just more transparency.

There is something not right with this share.

A lot of posts about the AGM, but this is just talk about a particular subject and does not look at the root cause.

The latest posts by Lucy and kaos3 are interesting.

However, the root cause of shareholder anger is the disconnect between the share price and the value of the company.

the value of the company has gone up, through deals, drilling, etc....and the share price just goes down.

The share price graph is strange. There are jumps in sp, which form a peak, as the share price then declines. Usually at an angle of 45 deg or more.

It happens nearly every time.

Someone is manipulating the share price down, and then taking a profit on the rise/spikes.

=======
On top of that you have the unexplained and bizarre behaviour of the BOD. ………;…..but its not the root cause of shareholder anger.

Someone is scamming the share price

AGM has moved to London because the co is attracting interest / wants to present itself to a wider audience. Simples.

(I have seen similar moves by other companies - RKH is a case in point: AGMs near Swindon with more directors than investors in the early days, then Sealion and attendance in the hundreds, filling Gibson hall in London.)

So I believe that CPO-5 and the farmouts mark a new phase in AMER, even if not yet in the share price

(I want to give AJBell/Youinvest a plug - they emailed a letter of attendance in 24 hours. Excellent!)

Do not buy that for a second

There two weeks ago for a meeting. NO id at all, but then I look well over 21 x 2.5

If you stay in the hotel you give ID just like most other hotels at check or check out, but not otherwise

The only ID is to ensure drinkers are over 21 in the bars. Bars everywhere have a duty to ensure drinkers are over 18

"Bars
Guests must be 21 or over with a valid I.D. to enter 12th Knot
Guests must be 18 or over with a valid I.D to enter Lyaness after 5pm."

GDPR can make it expensive for companies who flout any rules

"Sea Containers London does not ask for personal identifiable information unless we need it, intend to use it, or when you voluntarily provide it. ....

Apparently the photo ID is a requirement of the venue, recently reiterated to the company, hence the RNS.

to summarize WTF:

BOD does not care about the share price (daily)
BOD does not keep their own promises as a habit (drilling quantities in time)
BOD does not want an open confrontation with their shareholders so the put barriers on AGM
BOD does not inform their shareholders in time (quarterly, AGM RNS)
etc

why? what is their motive to do so?

And

they assembled some great assets, brought in partners and build OBA.

Combining the above I ask:

who do you think will reap the benefits of the undoubtedly positives done by BOD.
all of the present shareholders or just some taking into account how the BOD treats different groups of shareholders atm? (insiders, institutional, big private, small)

AGM - who is counting the votes? is there an independent supervising it? how? what is the procedure?

TIA

PS - AGM attending barriers - show of BOA weakness and fear
also to keep some reporters and similar out
1 Q - per an account, per person ...?

Hi al,

That's why I said, "-ish".

They're two sides of the same coin, but dividends seem to have a less deleterious effect on the share price, perhaps even beneficial, for income seekers.

It's the greed of the board that rankles. The job of the chairman, in part, is to represent ALL the shareholders. Clarke doesn't do that. But he does know his way around the city, even if in some (many?) quarters he's despised!

Wardle - well I have a soft spot for him thanks to EEN. Is he replaceable? I doubt it.

Ok, so tell me this. JW, a sane, rational, knowledgeable guy, splurged £1million (I think), of his own cash on shares at 17p. Then he goes on record to say the market does not appreciate the value. Today, we close at 13p - a 23% discount to that price, to which we can add a reserves update and a 3rd party transport agreement. There is board approval for a 10% buyback, plus a couple of active LTIP plans, struck at or above 16p.Our drilling program is "fully funded by production and OXY, but the year end figures show that by holding $44million or more, year round, we managed to book a forex loss of $2.8 million. Buying back the shares takes some of the slack out of the market, creates an improved p.e. for the company, and sets aside some future commitments at a discount. This can't send a message to the market other than the board thinks the shares are cheap, and represent excellent value. Dividends increase the size of our customer base, but are not tax efficient in any number. There is nothing at all to stop subsequent fund raising if needed, but we don't have the bandwidth or rig availability to do 10 drills in 2019, so why keep the money?

"This is a growth company. Buy-backs would flag it as a cash cow with no ideas for future growth."

Spot on... but so would dividends.

The problem for Amerisur at the moment is that shareholders do not see returns commensurate with progress (or even returns for that matter) so an alternative way of delivering that return has to be found. Given that the share price is not reflecting value, trying to return value via the share price (buy backs) doesn't seem sensible.

To me special dividend payments seem the best way forward. That doesn't send the message that the company is now throwing off cash that it can't re-invest, instead it re-assures share holders that the management are capable of and want to deliver shareholder value and will do so by whatever means necessary.

When confidence is restored and investing opportunities arise special dividends can cease... hopefully rather quickly and before they become expected.

I want Amerisur to be a growth company, I don't want signs of it hitting maturity at a market cap something over £150 million.

Link to the usual person :-)

Obviously sacking the board, assuming we get something better to replace it, would accomplish the same thing, but the board are probably less keen on that idea.

Memories of Rupert Everett in ‘Another Country’

“...and what I miss most (sigh) the cricket”

Much like the romantic drama here and what seems a lifetime ago, much as when AMER’s share price was 30p+ !!

“...what would ‘The Gods’ make of it! Shameful!”
“Six of the best...bend over, Bennett!”

No. I'm trying to meddle with a de-election!

I come with almost 9 million votes behind me (own, proxy and on-line)!
They all add up, bet we again never get the totals is that permissible in these days of transparency of governance they waffle on about?

. and of course - once you are and you vote - they will not have a clue who you are nor how many votes that you represent - especially as all you need is a letter telling that that you have at least 1 share - which I used to have just to gain access to the AGM - whereas my other accounts held much more (sadly no longer).

So yes a farce - and they will take no notice of the votes that are cast as they have no means of reconciling them.

I do like the idea of gaining entry with my holday snaps though - and even better with Tonys russian translation

lol

N95...you don't say...

That was the point, but they need not have said photo ID, just ID, as they in all probability don't have a clue what most shareholders look like.

Photo ID doesn't confirm anything, its the ID validated by name and address that validates it.

In fact if they are copying this photo info, it would be of concern, as they would have no need of photo id, nor should they....unless they intend to get the hit squad out against agitators

A dividend would be good-ish.

But in my experience I've never known share buy-backs (increasing EPS/decreasing P/E) enhance the share price. This is a growth company, or it should be! Buy-backs would flag it as a cash cow with no ideas for future growth.

Not just a chartist.

(This will turn around eventually, as it has done in the past, I'm just not riding down with it.)

I think I'll bring my Russian identity document - it has my most recent photo.

I trust they can translit my name from Cyrillic to Latin alphabets - Тон;и рел;ахk7;с.
For official purposes names are translitted, not translated, which would be Тон;и рас;слk2;бл 03;ет089;я.

Oh what fun. I hope you are not stuck behind me in the queue!

Just turning up with a photo is not ID, you need a passport or driving licence or something official with your name and photo on it along with your letter from your broker. I can't believe some here are so nieve.
