Well 30m producing at 8k per day (both net to AMER) with $30 costs, and $60 oil is worth 30p per share using my model (40p at $70 oil) - possibly less as I have not taken into account the X factor. That to my mind would be an optimistic case for this year. To take us higher we need more finds elsewhere. I do hope we get an answer to Put-12 this year.

next sign that we should be looking for is the preparation works of the infrastructure development (pipeline, processing ....). when Emotions take over- linguistics spills on the web - and we know lol ! banks, local contractors etc will go bananas (considering local temperament)

linguistics is not wabbling (for few only - that get it) - it is subconscious telling us before the mind speaks facts - and mind speaks facts long time after the facts are known - hence I did the analysis of the interview - indicating the elephant oil field by an old and steady hand using high emotional impact words - at the time of the interview (last May) - which was later confirmed by the presidents tweet, Videsh PR etc.

and if someone is fluent in spanish - local media posts are important

I thought the discovery was excellent but not of national significance so why is the Colombian state regulator saying it could 'revitalise' the country? Do they know something we don't?

Post 15786: you’re probably on the right track there as the Cretaceous Une formation sits at the base of Llanos 34 Block Jacana, Tigana etc. Fields’ reservoirs. These fields appear to be continuous and trapped against a major NE-SW fault system.
The Llanos Orientales is a Foreland Basin type so the drilling objectives will likely be to prove-up continuity of the L3 Une across these different structural traps. The appropriate sedimentary model here is probably fluvial to shallow marine so the prize is to prove up continuity both in stratigraphy (formation/sand layer) and fluids (hydrodynamic pressure).

A few of the wells on Platanillo seem a bit wonky. It's a good job CPO-5 is delivering the goods. Next 2 CPO-5 well results should make interesting reading.

Even if it is half as good as some informed observers seem to think we could be in for a very good year.

The strange thing is that Amer seemed undervalued even before the latest discovery.

This could be a real blaster, nothing to do here now but hold on. Loved that post about the institutions selling out before Christmas.

..but it's nonsense!! Just think for a moment.... they've drilled 2 structures, identified from seismic. Those structures stand out because they're structural highs (for the relevant sands).

Think of sand dunes in a desert..... the dunes are the structural highs, in between there's a much thinner layer of sand....

So why is the president of Colombia tweeting this news? 7000 bopd from Mariposa and Indico. 7000 bopd is hardly a gargantuan output/day. Is the tweet an expression of the importance the president attaches to CPO-5 as he knows there's far more to come from this block? I bloody hope so!

.Even the President of Colombia, Ivan Duque, feels the need to tweet about this week's CPO-5 discovery at I-1. It must be something special if the Colombian leader is tweeting the news. I suspect we've 'stumbled' upon something quite special at CPO-5. 4 Extra wells as well and taken up with speed so they must be confident of the future potential - they can't wait to get stuck in it seems

I've bought in here for the first time today. Potential enormity of resource and the directors' confidence via significant share purchases are strong positives. I looked at AMER quite a while back when a friend recommended it - at that time it was 25p and I just didn't "get it" then. Everything's changed, though, in the last 2 months.
