Dear oh dear.

What a mess. Still, I am sure this is another web that will be untangled in due course.

Have to say, at this stage I am not convinced the $6 M of sharholders funds is held by the 'Croatian Mafia'

Someone kindly posted a link to the above on the LDC thread a while back. So Mr Gary Ohlbaum was a director of Industrogradnja, one of the companies which was mentioned as being above involved in the loan. He is or was based in Croatia and became a Non Exec of China Mobilenet in March 2008.

6.3 Loan of $5 Million Written Off

Our investigations have uncovered that on 7th September 2005, LAC plc sent $5 million to Nourican Adriatic d.o.o., in Zagreb, Croatia. The transfer document was signed by Mr Simon Littlewood. A signed contract confirms that the loan was to have been secured by a pledge over 25,000 shares in Industrogradnja d.d., but no signed guarantee or pledge has been traced.

The purpose of the loan was to help Nourican Adriatic d.o.o. provide evidence to the Croatian Stock Exchange (Zagrebaka Burza) that cash needed for a bid to be made by two Croatian companies for Industrogradnja was available. LAC was to receive a fee of US$ 1 million for this loan.

The bid for Industrogradnja was launched on 11th November 2005 at a share price of 650 Kuna at a discount to its market price of 810 Kuna. As a result, only 2,640 shares were tendered for at a total cost of $273,244. It appears that the $5 million loan provided by LAC was not used for the bid and should have been returned to LAC in January 2006, together with the $1 million fee.

And by the way - I hear a photofit has been issued of a man posing as a shareholder and who attempted to rig the vote at the LDC GM in London last week.

Does anyone here recognise this man?

He was last seen around 30 minutes after the meeting running down the Strand in an Easterly direction towards Fleet St.

Researched and surveyed over 11,000 professionals?

On Tuesday 24th November 2009, Simon Littlewood will attend as a speaker the Private Equity World MENA conference in Dubai. Click on the banner to read more information about this event.

Quite ironic really - Simon Littlewood lands in Dubai. And the whole place comes crashing down around his ears.

Perfect timing as usual. Invite Simon Littlewood as a guest speaker at your event - and all hell breaks loose. Good job he didn't turn up at the GM.

Just taken a look around this website kindly posted by someone on the LDC thread.

Familiar names, familiar companies and interestingly while his past activities were being given a public airing at the London GM - Simon was a guest speaker at some conferance in Dubai.

Just goes to show - some of these guys have absolutely no shame.

And the best advice I can give of all. Respect and obey the law but when confronted with a problem look at other solutions to resolve them. Problems can sometimes be solved by combining several strategies. The law is there but look at the bigger picture and solutions which are more unconventional and imaginative.

Look to outsmart your opponent through different ways. And once you have worn down your opponent you can always use the law to hammer home your advantage.

The same goes for people in all walks of life. If you see injustice - do not shy away. Confront the offenders and your efforts will not go in vain.

Walk away and they will divide, bully and conquer.

And the support is now gathering pace for the new management in LDC. I said over there that I am very impressed with the work done by Keith Negal in uncovering the LDC scandal.

Early days yet - but an example of how determined people can achieve a great deal. I don't know Negal and have never spoken to the man. But from afar he seems to be a man who aspires to justice and honesty. For that he deserves the support and respect of LDC shareholders.

Great - we have the accounts. Disclaimer of audit opinion as expected. This will lead to qualifications in future years, but I am now 100% convinced that existing management are doing the right thing for us. They have delivered on their promise and I think we should now get behind them and support them.

Meanwhile, irl, the ISF is struck off for failure to file documents with the RoC.

Can anyone remind me whether such a failure falls foul of civil or criminal law (as I have a tendency to forget such trivia)?
