Bamboo,

Cheers!

The Q3 update wasn't enough to break the range.

It is possible one of the shareholders wants out, maybe Downing? They are the kiss of small cap death.

What do you think of COST?

How about MCL?

LOOP, very lucky not to be holding this on Friday. Apex based turn worked well here.
Support at 58 ish.

Potential turns 30/11&4/12/2020

Note to self, avoid trading downtrends/reversals.

Hi Cassini, you are correct, the current pattern on the daily scale is a triangle or wedge.

Flags, pennants and knots are all similar and much shorter timescale features. Normally less than twenty trading sessions long.

These are excellent patterns for shorter term trades.

Consider Bulkowski's Half Mast concept,

Bamboo,

Looking at the 'Technical Insight' feature at ii.co.uk it reckons instead of a triangle there's a 'flag' in the pattern for ORPH and calls it bearish - it has a target of 19-20p. It turns out it's talking about a flag in the last few days. Can't see it myself, but I'm definitely a complete amateur when it comes to TA. I just about recognise bowls, triangles, H&S, double/triple bottoms, cup and handles, trading channels etc but not much else.

I'm calling it a symmetrical triangle and hoping therefore since the entry was from an uptrend, so will the breakout be. Now it's not the best symmetrical triangle ever but I'm just taking a punt really.

Not long to wait anyway ;0)

Cassini, ORPH had an outside day today, so direction of potential turn is impossible to judge.

Here's one that that I got involved with a while ago and which has behaved impeccably.

Will we get one last brief re-test of that 4.8p level next week, on the red/blue triangulation apex ?

Hi Bamboo,

Thanks!

Yes, that staircase was the main thing I took from Fingers. It was a nice and simple charting concept.

SUR has that nice step pattern.

On CNIC, the newsflow is constructive which is making me sense that it has more of a chance to break from this consolidation phase rather than breakdown. The 80p to 90p range has been disturbed by the Covid crash and a placing at 75p for an acquisition. It's now whether the acquisition acts as a catalyst to break the range.

Thank you

CNIC On a longer timescale this is a broadening pattern. Probably right angled and descending, in Bulkowski's terminology.

As you have noted, an upbreak of overhead resistance at approx 96.5 is needed for price to escape the pattern and make meaningful progress. Tp is min approx 112.

Hi Simon, I could never replace fingers!

I have a very different style to him, although I have just started using a very similar rectangle/price range/staircase idea.

I keep to a small palette of shares and I trade them relentlessly. It's very interesting from a psychological point of view! Frustrating though, when the timing is wrong.

As you know, for timing I use trendline apexes. Sometimes it's like owning a time machine!

CNIC chart to follow

Hey Bamboo,

You're becoming the new Fingers!

If you get the chance could you have a look at CNIC?

It looks like a coiled spring to me, if it breaks 100p how far could it run up?

Thanks!

Cassini, very long time since we last chatted. Hope you are well and getting through this very strange time.

I did notice your post on defl, and think you picked the $gold high really well! Not sure if this was your intention. I have since become very bearish on gold, although I keep some. Hope you are still doing well.

Well spotted apex with ORPH. As usual what seems initially like a simple binary choice, ends up with a cacophony of alternate interpretations! Do you hold?

It is possible that a H&S could still confirm, although so far price has been unwilling to confirm it. A gap appears on the mid chart, but this is not visible on the last market chart, so probably not the magnet that it could be, should it have appeared on both types of chart.

GAW, potential turn tomorrow, 25/11/2020, but might not be the end of a longer term downtrend. H&S confirmed this evening tp approx 8000

Main obstacle of all target prices is support or resistance. The market wants to see a test of the breakaway gap dated 10/9/2020, which measures 8825-9275
Filled or unfilled, Breakaway gaps can make good support zones.

Gaw buyers, not too long to wait now.
Todays inside day candle is normally a continuation of prior trend.
