P/E of 7 and priced too rich?!

Yeah forgot about div... But even with the 6.9p drop should still be above all MA so uptrend is intact.

Well, tomorrow's XD so will that ruin your chart? ;)

Seriously, I may buy after XD, but this is priced slightly too rich for my liking, I'd prefer about a 10% drop before it's in my buy zone...

Golden cross today with 25sma moving above the 100sma. Looking like a decent move up could be on the cards. Although with illiquid shares it only takes a big sell to stuff up any tech analysis!

170p and we may have a nice breakout on. share price seems to move in 30p increments so a short term target of 200 for a bit of profit taking. Then onwards to 300 - my ultimate target.

Got a nice bounce going on this afternoon. If seller has finished we might see a swift climb, otherwise if volume drops off likely to have a few more down days before the next run up.

I missed that the CEO purchased last week. Nice vote of confidence hopefully.

Looks like forecast eps has been nudged higher for this year to 24p rising to 25.2 next year. PE therefore comfortably below 7 and offering excellent value. Hopefully the decent dividend yield will be maintained for the year.

I really like it when an earnings enhancing acquisition is funded by cash rather than shares. It should turbocharge future eps. So much better than the current trend for buybacks, which are only really ok if the company has given up on growth and returning funds. Not the case here and expecting a decent run above £2 at some point soon!

The acquisition of ARC looks to be a very good move. The fact that Alumasc's water management's products are similar would imply risk is low, with the opportunities for synergies being high. FinnCap reckon the shares are rated at half of their target price, partly based on the fact that ALU's PE ratio is at 32% to its peers.

Today's yield on ALU is 7.62% (Stockopedia), so not a bad share to hold whilst a rerating occurs.

Interesting acquisition announcement. First since 2018. I wonder if this is the start of some new M&A strategy?

RNS states results in line with expectations in a difficult market, but surprisingly the share price is down. FinnCap has forecast higher borrowings, so is that the reason?

2023 p/e of 6 with yield of 6.6%. Crossed 50 and 200 SMAs. Confident update in Feb:

Outlook

Building Envelope and Housebuilding Products had strong first half
performances and good momentum going into the second half.

Water Management has seen lower first half export volumes, but a
stronger performance is expected in H2 as a result of the next phase of the
Chek Lap Kok airport project and other overseas project phasing.

Whilst market conditions remain uncertain in the near term, the Group
continues to demonstrate its ability to outperform underlying markets through
innovation and service, as well as manage costs and improve efficiency.

As a result, the Board remains confident in the Group achieving its
full year expectations.

The share price is up this morning to 150p by 1100hrs, so maybe Peel Hunt have realised their error! Their EPS forecast must have been achieved already in Q3, with Q4 profits ready to achieve the FinnCap forecast eps.

Good companies mentioned thanks. I have a few of those. SRC, CNIC, SUR.

I will throw in JET2, GNC, CNC, WIX.
Jet2 - I am convinced they are about to show their hand and reveal how they are blowing the competition out the water.

Hi basem1, some good companies you raise there, I do hold CNIC and SRC in your list. I have a number of very high yielders but also like MEGP, CAPD, AT. SHOE, GLEN, IGR (recovery play), SCLP (blue sky play).Apologies for off topic.

Valhamos, Just checked Sharepad and they have forecasts of 24.5 eps for 2023, 25.5 for 2024 and 26.1 for 2025. Those I assume will be Finncap's figures, their nominated lead broker.Finncap reduced the 2023 forecast EPS last year so all that would be priced in now. Not seen anything from PH circulating. Like you indicate, this would be totally weird after a positive update.
