Its worth going back to the half year report published on the 30th Sept so ineffect at the end of the 3rd quarter,so presumably the Ceo had a fairly good idea by then of how the 3rd quarter had gone. His closing statement is very positive, Saying with the capital in place the Company and its Shareholders can look forward to a positive future.

If they wanted to steal this, why would they employ Mr Gallagher? why would they consolidate? Why bother to change the name?

Of course it could happen, if conditions meant there was no other option, but a public listing gives access to money, and money is what they will need to develop phase 2.

The share price is certainly being manipulated, the evidence is all of the silly little trades that make no sense, and of course that causes terror on the bulletin boards...panic is what they want, so the weak and frightened sell their shares for penny mixups, and then rage vociferously on the boards.

They want the share price down so they can make money, because shorts turn to longs in the blink of an eye on good news.

So, is there any good news possible or likely?

Ask Mr Gallagher why he joined. What did they tempt him with? What plan could they have thar Mr Gallagher could play a part in?

The sooner the weaklings are out the better, these fair weather investors are in the wrong place, try premium bonds.

Too many conspiracies flying around. I'm happy to believe the mill was down for a few weeks extra into Q3. That's what I take from the latest RNS, yes material details haven't been reported including what has happened this quarter so far. How many holders here have tried contacting the company? I cant get a reply but on mass weekly we may finally get somewhere.

CoolHandKev, ASO is a good reminder, with a peak 300p and hammered down to 30p then private at 100p. If ALTN mirrors the same chart then upside is viewed from levels substantially below 100p.

Cyberbub This too is a concern of mine management holding the majority of stock and taking the company private as this happened to me With Holmes Place

I see it falling quite a bit more. They've ballsed it up somewhat. Starting to remind me of ASO they 'stole' it from investors.

Ounces sold has not improved , the grade has not improved (infact fallen) and the extra revenue through the gold price is being taken by loan repayments and interest. In other words they are back where they were, so a fall to anywhere near 0.5p is entirely possible and then to flatline until they come up with some tangible improvements.

The post from LSE Hawaii does have some credibility, just about every negative angle is being portrayed on this bulletin board and LSE.

The above posts following my earlier one are examples.

It does make you wonder, it makes me laugh when folk suggest stocks like this cannot be shorted, of course they can via spread bets.

JC7206, I meant them or connected parties shorting the small free float. It wouldn't take much, especially if assisted by (deliberately?) underwhelming progress on the mining front.I'm almost certainly being paranoid but it's not impossible by any means.

cyberbub, dominant shareholder at 70% is most certainly a danger for the small investor, an additional fear factor that may make it uninvestable for some.

That would just be selling rather than shorting as they own the stock. I don't believe that this is likely but the world is a strange place.

Am I being too paranoid/Machiavellian to ask whether the Assurbayevs or colleagues might have been shorting the shares to get the share price down to the point where they can buy another 5% and then vote to delist and take it private? Yes they could have done so in the past, but the POG wasn't as high in the past.... If they announced a delisting 'proposal' today, the share price would crater to 50p, and they could pick up 5% of the company for less than a million quid, taking them over 75% and ensuring the delisting went ahead.Sigh... This is the problem with companies that have a dominant single shareholder... You're never sure what their plan is, but you know it will be for their own benefit...NAI etc

This is far too illiquid to be shorted.

Oversold

There cannot be many gold producers whose share price has fallen 50% in a month - the bulletin boards are full of negativity, this negativity is combined with some very suspicious trading that seems to be aimed at destabilising a very illiquid stock. Interesting that !

I would not be surprised if the stock is/has been shorted, one thing I am aware of (and profited from many times) is to keep a focused eye on the trades as when the price turns up it will usually be fast.

It is significantly oversold on the technicals with the RSI at a 18 month low. Another reason why the bounce back could be significant.

It shows that between may and October the share price was way above trend, but we have dramatically brought back down to earth.
