HG. Agree we have long passed any reasonable delay to reporting Q3 production results. It's a well established fact that reporting good news comes on schedule or quicker and bad news is delayed.

So that means the Assaubeyevs have failed with yet another quarter of production. If they were employees of this company rather than owners they would be out the door by now. We cannot keep making excuses for them. The stories they will give for failure are just not acceptable.

As shareholders we are not interested in these excuses. All we want is production guidance, which they won't give, and then meeting or beating guidance and reporting such in the month following the quarter end like nearly every other gold miner.

Instead of progress with production we get distractions. eg share consolidation and yet another name change. Tinkering around the edges rather than the main task of mining and increasing profitability in a gold bull market .... Every quarter they go backwards is yet another quarter's opportunity lost.

Best way forward I can see is for someone to come in, make a half decent offer, put some pressure on the company and take the Assaubeyevs out.

141/146 is the current spread.

I'm expecting more than merely a quarterly update. Maybe we'll have to wait for the results but I think it's more likely that whatever they are up to won't wait til then.

Mind you £1.40 per share is cheap as chips, and once things crank up a gear we'll kick ourselves for not taking full advantage.

I bought a few more today as mentioned earlier. I am quite happy to wait six months or a couple of years at a push to see some material progress.

Why wait and pay full price later?

Gold up 2% today.

Certainly further corporate activity is very likely.

Lack of news is certainly frustrating however, the spread is much narrower than has been seen in many a moon.

Also, there seems to be something afoot. Sells early yesterday at 1.34/35 and then later in the day moved to 1.41 as has been seen today. Plenty of sells have been absorbed.

Someone buying??

The daily, monthly or quarterly numbers are bound to fluctuate, but so long as we see a general upward curve of production I'll be happy.

There is the possibility that they can't share info right now due to confidentiality agreements with another entity.

My opinion from day one, when we got approval for ths bank loan, is that we were in fact merely packaging ourselves for a sale or partnership with another entity, and nothing that has happened since changes that point of view.

ODR,

"The majority of the maintenance on the mills has now been completed but it is expected there will be some further maintenance in H2 on the grinding mills as it is being completed in stages."

Also the new equipment requires training in use , H&S and to be worked into the mine plan . It doesn't just happen . Q4 / Q1 I would think will give a better indication of real progress

Meanwhile looking good that $1770'ish was the bottom of a range for Gold and signalling big move up from here.

fingers crossed

Gut feel is Q3 didn’t meet expectations ( good or reasonable news is reported on time ) and that we’ll get a H2 update in February, that hopefully encompasses a better Q4.

Looking for 3-4 decent ‘ white candle’ days for gold to confirm $1770 area was key support ( despite dropping below the 200 day SMA).

The name change and consolidation was surely done on the basis of a known bigger picture that will be beneficial for shareholders. The improved communications of previous months has stalled; they need to get a decent story out the market to encourage investors and support the share price.

Has the head and shoulders pattern completed yet?

Arguably we could revisit as low as 100 according to that, but there is a little support at 140p...which could if it holds, be a turning point.

I guess we'll have to wait longer for Q3, but we'll see soon enough the direction of the gold price.

Meanwhile, back to ALTN, still no Q3 news...radio silence...indicates that there may be a lot going on behind the scenes.

All currencies are mickey mouse currencies these days, since they are only backed by the potential success of politicians...and not the hard reality of hard commodities.

Mind you, for any currency to be backed by a single commodity is a bit unrealistic.

It is possible - Zimbabwe did it - but it involves pegging your Mickey Mouse currency to a hard one, and severe hardship for a number of years. In future the Mickey Mouse currency may well be the USD and the hard currency will be gold.

History would suggest that it is not possible to control hyperinflation. Although, I would not underestimate the FEDs arrogance and to try that approach.
