Bigshort When i read your rants , i think of one thingFor a man who seems not to care whether alt does well or not, you seem to spend a hell of a lot of time writing about it A guy with a lot of time on his hands id say Reading your latest rant , id say you have as much insight into this business as Mr O Leary of Ryanair has in how to retain loyal customers

Channl, sub-brand in the US, CustomerFocus, website traffic rank is also collapsing hxxps://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/customerfocus.com.

I thought this was a growth company LOL

I wonder how Altitude management would explain that the site ranking of www.channl.com is decreasing (hxxps://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/channl.com).
Its the 4,039,267 most viewed site globally, it basically means that they have very very few visitors and its declining.

This stock will go back to 10p as the market gets that their Channl business is very low quality and uncompetitive.

robbnw - hope is the optimal word. Try praying also. I heard that it works.

This board is fascinating as a learning tool for behavioural economics and cognitive biases.

The bigshortfella is a pun on the Big Short book by Michael Lewis and my height and weight. Don’t get anchored by the “short” element. I have still not ever carried out a short but I do maintain a list of companies to potentially short. ALT is at the top of it.

For the record, I still don’t have a position in ALT and I don’t care whether I make money on ALT whether it goes up or down. This also means that I don’t take every piece of information about ALT as positive, e.g. Sanjay’s departure. How this can be automatically construed as positive news is beyond me. Anyone with any critical thinking skills would not naturally assume that it was.

Right..let’s do some critical thinking about the information that ALT provided at the webinar. I didn’t attend it BTW, if I had a short running on ALT I definitely would have done.

So they had 15,540 visitors. But I notice that everyone jumps on this as positive news. But no one asks if it is or not? Unbelievable..Well it’s not really. You are invested so you are naturally biased to take every piece of data as positive…

So the next sentence is "The unusually high dwell times were explained as the visitors not being casual punters like you or me, but suppliers and distributors”. Is there any information here that signifies that customers are actually buying promotional goods? Nope – so after a year of executing on their so called strategy, why is everyone getting excited? And why is Finncap suggesting a 109 target price?

"They were doing things like uploading logos, exploring the personalisation functionality”. Great! I saw this happening almost a year ago. Where’s the new news? Where’s the traction data?

From a Distributor perspective: I have got my shop open, but is anyone coming to it? How am I going to get customers to my shop? Have I got the skills to do it?

Did ALT provide any information on what Distributors are doing aside from uploading logos? Any information on the webinar about how distributors are marketing with their customers? Any information on unique visitors that would give an indication that punters are actually interacting with the sites? Any case studies of how Distributor x has moved online? Or shall we ignore this stuff and just talk about how everyone needs to give the ALT management some time? Time for what? Uploading more logos?

Is the webinar online anywhere? I am keen to watch it to actually listen and then think about the data that ALT management are providing. If they are saying things that stack up, I may go long. But, if not...

Soulcatcher - what's your take on the information from the webinar? IMHO it does not provide one iota of data that gives an indication that their strategy is working.

One last thing , the only shareholders i see quoting are small holders who want a jam now .The business can do without themWe appoint a board We need to trust them They are working hard and making the right appointmentsWhen things dont work out , they get rid I believe the sellers will regret it .Yes i could be deluded but i dont think so I repeat again ...if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen

They confirmed the website visitor numbers in the webinar - August visits were 15,540 compared to July's 10k. They had a chart showing the ramp up from a standing start in March.

The unusually high dwell times were explained as the visitors not being casual punters like you or me, but suppliers and distributors who might be interested in setting up their own website and therefore wanting to dig into the mechanics of how the websites work from that perspective. They were doing things like uploading logos, exploring the personalisation functionality etc. If you visit one of the websites you can see the sort of thing they are referring to.

Big shortGuess where my thoughts are are here The business has a good decent trade going quite aside from the new stuff ie channl It has major potential But it has a stack of smal shareholders who are impatient and want jam today All understandable but patience is needed here Look at 4imprint and their share price I reckon we need to give the board and especially the US management time to deliver They are putting in big effort Sit tight and wait Once income starts coming through all the doom and gloomers will be red faced and will wish they had bought more

Robbnw - I am not going to get out of any kitchen. I am staying put & will short ALT down to 0p unless they confirm that they have a sustainable business.

I would love to know your thoughts on the questions we are raising about the analytics. Kind of hard to respond to, eh?

One number I'm trying to get my head around - ADP contributed £47k of profit to end June - now given that it was only acquired in June, this perhaps gives a sense of the scale of the UK business going forwards ...
