Gutted. Was going to hit the sell button on another stock and buy into these this morning. Only thing that was stopping me was the stock I was about to sell was BIDS and was nervous about selling that at the moment.

"Possible dilutive placing!" Wtf are you smoking? Nowhere is that inferred. Gobind doesn't have the headroom for a placing of even £1, He used it all for the Northstar purchase. If he needs cash he has got millions of warrants he can ask to be converted, He will no doubt ask for some headroom to issue shares at the AGM but that is subject to shareholder approval

Some useful links on the above website giving far more information on fund. Having reviewed some of the literature, agree with Citychappy that high cash balances were not the sole drag on performance in 2021. Looks like the market for LSFs is very competitive and overpaying appears to be a constant issue - in addition to policyholders living longer than they should.

On balance, positives of unique asset class, coupled with decent capital inflows currently outweigh performance issues. But if inflows did start to slow, that coupled with continued underperformance would make me sell.

All of that said, it looks like AUM continues to rise steadily.

AUM at end of Nov 21 was $37m
AUM at end of Jan 22 was $45m - $8m inflow

Note - all of this excludes the Bermuda operations and what they may be worth.

Are we disappointed by the reaction this morning? Probably not judging by the fall. Await the next update which may be in 2023.

Not the time to buy. There’s jam tomorrow in today’s release and the unannounced possibility of another dilutive placing. However, US political incompetence, instability aside, Alpha looking more attractive.

Annualised performance has been impacted by the fund's need / wish to hold 25% in cash which meant the true underlying performance was nearer 10%. Its been easy to discount uncorrelated assets in the face of massive central bank intervention which has inflated liquid assets, but as that one way bet comes to an end, and the world starts pricing in inflation / war / political and economic volatility (look at the Dow / Nas fluctuations these last few weeks), I think we will see an acceleration of AUM, as uncorrelated assets become more attractive in the face of continued uncertainty.

I think doubling of assets is a credible performance and if they can get to 100m AUM / reach a 3 year track record without any blemishes, that will open many many new doors. Happy to hold but have not discounted another fund raise in future.

BOAG performance has dropped again now only annualized 7.7% since inception in September 2019, so performance returns over the last year must have been even lower.Still no news on an RCF or something from Eaton. Its poor performance on the fund and other things. They need to buck themselves up and do something.

Agreed. AUM doubled and a reasonable return despite the cash holding. Company starting to prove its organic growth potential.

from their fund report just published:
... they are having issues with the increased mortality

Actually the reverse? More/earlier deaths than predicted = better returns?
