02/10/2018 14:59 | Life Settlement investment returns are fundamentally based on mortality and thus have low market correlation coupled with low volatility. This represents an excellent 'market neutral' alternative to traditional investment classes. Life Settlements are life insurance policies purchased at a significant discount to the maturity amount. This can offer attractive returns typically around 8%-12% per annum, net of fees. The counter party for NDB payments are US insurance companies with investment grade ratings typically A+ or above. | euclid5

02/10/2018 12:18 | Extracts from the Admi Doc: Pages 23 - 27 are well worth a read The Company will only advise on business relating to policies that are over two years old in order to avoid the statutory contestability period. The Policies which the Company will focus on are those with low face values (typically US$250,000 - $1.5m) allowing the greater number of policies to be aggregated with relevant funds available, with an average age of insured of 80 years or more and life expectancies of less than 10 years. A holding of a large number of well diversified Policies increases the probability of achieving target returns and avoiding incorrectly assessed Policies. The Company’s business will be to provide advisory and consultancy services to investors (and potential investors) in existing SLS Assets, but it will not advise any retail investors. The Company is not a fund manager and will not buy or sell SLS Assets for its own account as a financial trade or investment. | euclid5

02/10/2018 12:13 | Hi Cyberbub, The Large Insurance co's holds the risks in the SLS policies ALGW, doesn't fork out £100m for the contracts, they just manage this portfolio, so will charge a AMC, not sure exactly - have to re read the Adm doc Agree, Swick could of bought a lot more than 750k I put a post a few weeks back on how this business works - will try digging it out & re posting. | euclid5
02/10/2018 12:09 | Worth a read | hope67
02/10/2018 10:34 | So if we assume much more realistically that an annual management fee would be 1%, then a £50M bundle would more or less cover company overheads. If a typical 'overinsured' life insurance policy in the USA is £500k then that's only 100 people... | cyberbub
02/10/2018 10:04 | Isn’t it as simple as no announcements the price plummets , announcement of some decent contracts the price rockets up ! | hungary16
