"..As investors seek alternative investments in 2019, one asset class they will find increasingly attractive is life settlements, which are US-issued life insurance policies that have been sold by the original owners at a deep discount to their maturity values and are institutionally traded through a highly-regulated market. The asset class is currently offering internal rates of return of around 14.7%.

Jeremy Leach commented: 2019 will be the year of value and investors will find it difficult to find assets offering returns as favourable as life settlements. At 14.7% the IRR on life settlements is still significantly higher than the risk-free rate, so now is still a good time to invest in the asset class, especially now when the consensus is that undersupply will push up prices.."

Listening to that interview, this is an excellent investment short or long term.Imo hold for 12 to 24 months and could see a a very huge return from this price.

Francesca Morgan: "What was the drive behind launching this fund?"

Gobind Sahney: "..Well its very simple, I mean it was market driven. After careful consideration we (meaning SL and ourselves) decided that it was probably a good time to launch the fund. As one knows, these are not inexpensive exercises and it is definitely an investment for the long term.

So when we were speaking with our client base: which are family offices, ultra-high net worth individuals that act like institutions and other institutional-type investors in the US and Europe, we were getting feedback that they love this asset class but wanted a standardised type of investment vehicle and the alternatives for these investors were older funds in our space that have opaque valuation methodologies and what I would call fee structures that were "manager-friendly" rather than "investor-friendly". So we certainly believe that we are offering a very desirable product to the investor market place looking for those non-correlated yields.."

Gobind Sahney: "..We recently announced that KPMG had reviewed the historical returns for the vehicle we collaborated on and it showed a 16.2% annualised return which we believe is a pretty good return for an uncorrelated asset and so, this report that came out by KPMG is something that we will share with qualified investor prospects and it has already been requested by our top prospective clientele and is being reviewed.."

"..We recently hired a marketing person for the fund who has got extensive experience in marketing funds in the US: a guy named Austin King and Austin has existing relationships which are extensive and we are getting the fund registered on various investor platforms and are in discussions with investors. So we continue to add to this marketing effort and increase the exposure in the investment community for the fund. So, we expect great things to occur from these conversations coming here in 2020.."

Felt the interviewer was weak, didn't ask any salient questions about the potential $100 million, when Gobind expects to make next announcement, other initiatives in the pipeline etc. Maybe she had been told to steer away from these in view of impending rns's. Was ok for background - but we're looking to the future! Happy Christmas and GLA.

It's got great potential especially being a Uncorrelated asset class with no link to the financial markets had KPMG confirm a 16.26% annualised gross return studied over 5yr period. Targeting the $57Billion lapsed policies open to the UK,US and Asian financial Institutions to invest.
