09/2/2006 00:15 | great white, At 90p they'd be on a PER around 9 paying a dividend yield of 4.5% net. I don't think it's saying "takeover", I think it's saying "cheap"! Regards, Ian | jeffian
08/2/2006 22:17 | ARE alpha airports next for a bid?chart looking better, break above 72p area should gap upto 82p-90-p area. | the great white
08/2/2006 21:56 | break the 72p area and this could gap up to 82p-90p area. | the great white
08/2/2006 15:35 | Still don't follow your reasoning. Servair are part of Air France and all but bust, so they won't be bidding although their stake could, of course, be a platform for another bidder. With several other large institutional holdings, it would be easy to put together 50%+. As for "airports being snapped up", that may be so but AAP doesn't have any airport interests - it puts food on planes and sells duty-free in flight and from airport retail outlets which it leases from airport operators. I think you're putting 2+2 together and making 22! Regards, Ian | jeffian
08/2/2006 11:00 | Servair holds over 26% they need over 28% to make a formal bid.AS more and more airports are snapped up,it's only a matter of time before AAP goes. | the great white
08/2/2006 10:42 | With large lumps of the shareholders' register in very few hands, it's been said before, great white. But why now? and by whom? Are you just flying (an old) kite or do you have something to share with us? Regards, Ian | jeffian
08/2/2006 10:18 | With BAA uptoday on take over ,ALPHA AIRPORTS ARE NEXT. | the great white
30/1/2006 16:52 | Bit of a mixed trading statement today. Not quite sure what to make of it. Good news is that H2 profits recovered after a poor H1; they appear to have found £3m future cost savings to offset part of loss of Thomsonfly contract; higher margin non-UK business offsetting margin squeeze in UK.....BUT bad news is retail profit down despite higher passenger numbers and now they've gone and lost somewhere between £0.7-£2.5M (nice to see the FD has his finger on the pulse - NOT!) to fraud!!! This company does seem to have a habit of going one step forward and two steps back. Regards, Ian | jeffian
11/1/2006 13:51 | Go on then, Fred. Regards, Ian | jeffian
11/1/2006 13:48 | add the debt to the pension deficit and you get a (too) high enterprise value in relations to nav, eps and everything else - the fact that a director bought implies no new deals about to signed + no private equity group is going to look at a pension can of worms like this, add in the dire prospects for in flight catering and you have a SHORT imho....... | ydderf
