18/5/2007 09:37 | In case it slipped people's radar... AAP signed a 'Licensing Agreement' with Starbucks Coffee Company (UK) Ltd to open a number of coffee stores in various UK airports through a structured roll-out programme over the next few years." The first store is to open at Jersey Airport in October 2007. Every little helps I suppose. | sruk77
13/4/2007 22:24 | It's my fault, I'm afraid. Dumped 75k at 70p a couple of days ago and it's shot up since then! So often the way, eh?! 8-( Regards, Ian | jeffian
13/4/2007 14:25 | What on earth is occurring? AAP just doesn't do this. No spread at 80p now none at 78p. | esrimeur
10/4/2007 11:33 | some city boy say:shares price will be 80- 85P at 3-6 month? | may45
30/3/2007 10:13 | Could see this go to low 60's at which point I might be tempted. The baggage restrictions are really holding this down and when lifted could be a real boost. | thepopeofchillitown
27/3/2007 10:01 | eithin, The drop in divi was flagged up in the last results and commented on above. I agree with you; I don't like it either. This has traditionally been a low-growth company which has largely been supported by its high divi yield. Unless it can start to generate some growth, what's to support it? Peter Williams' review of the business has really just come up with more of the same - try to drive margins in the very competitive airline catering side and go for the higher margin retail growth in regional and overseas airport retailing. My personal opinion is that they're flogging a dead horse with airline catering and a bold approach would have been to split the business in two and concentrate on retailing (which is also Williams' core skill). Or maybe someone could be tempted to have a pop at it and put us all out of our misery (come on, Private Equity, where are you when we need you?!) Regards, Ian | jeffian
27/3/2007 06:45 | Results OK but don't like the drop in divi........ | eithin
02/3/2007 10:25 | There have been bid rumours about AAP for years, they never came to anything. If it happens, all to the good, but I'm not holding my breath. | lightning
26/2/2007 16:29 | Someone is clearly active ... I'm still targetting 90p+ Any thoughts/comments? Thanks, Charlie | charlie nolan
20/1/2007 15:45 | 70p next week? | poorold
19/1/2007 21:47 | The Daily Express does; today's paper said of 'vague bid rumours' | lanzarote666
19/1/2007 09:22 | Moving up this week,Anyone think we might see a bid soon? | balcony
17/1/2007 12:13 | Well looks like its trend is up. | edjgee
28/12/2006 20:57 | edjgee, I had an exchange of correspondence about this with CEO Peter Williams because most people, like yourself, did not pick up from the Interims that a cut in the divi has been flagged up. ("The Board has reviewed its future dividend policy. Whilst it is intended to retain flexibility regarding future events, the Board recognises the need to balance dividend payments with medium-term free cash flow generation and to maintain a level of dividend cover consistent with a progressive dividend policy. It is therefore the Board's intention that the Group will maintain a dividend cover of not less than 2 times pre-exceptional earnings; this policy will apply from, and including, the year ending 31 January 2007.") Last year's divi was 4.2p/share. Earnings per share were 5.74p. If they applied their 2xcover formula, that would result in a substantial cut. It may be the right thing for the company to do but I was not happy with the way they tried to sneak it out without anyone noticing and it may bite them on the bum when they announce their 2006/7 results and people understand what is actually going on. Regards, Ian | jeffian
28/12/2006 18:17 | Overal AAP seems to be lumbered with the worst luck going. Most companies cut their divis when share price gets hit like theirs. This one maintained it! Perhaps bodes well for the future but their sector seems not to attract too many takeover bids, maybe contracts too fluid to make them valuable to a predator. Probablyu 80-85 is real value of AAP. Enjoy the new year. AAP may help. | edjgee
16/11/2006 16:42 | Alpha Airports awarded duty-free shopping contract for New Delhi Airport LONDON (AFX) - Alpha Airports Group said it has been awarded the duty-free shopping contract for Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi in joint venture with Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd. The contract will run for three years and three months. Chief executive Peter Williams highlighted, "In India, international traffic is growing at over 15 pct per annum and domestic traffic grew 28 pct last year." Alpha and Pantaloon are also currently in discussions about the travel retailing and food and beverage opportunities at Bangalore and Hyderabad airports. newsdesk@afxnews.com vb COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2006. 16/11/2006 16:32 | Can anyone shed light on the 8p rise today ... some heavy buying going on it seems. Thx | charlie nolan
25/10/2006 09:59 | Peter Williams is acting Chairman and Chief Executive, so more than just "one of the directors"! Regards, Ian | jeffian
25/10/2006 09:51 | it seems that one of the the directors does! | omalaha
24/10/2006 21:55 | britishbulls.com rate this share as a buy, I wonder if anyone else feels the same ? | starborn
05/10/2006 18:28 | Ian [& others], A 10p month-on-month share price increase certainly continues to support 'our' theory of hitting 90p by year end. The BA-Iberia link up will also offer potential opportunities - this coupled with India/Middle East contracts confirms my decision to 'hold'. Regards, Charlie | charlie nolan
28/9/2006 11:30 | Why don't you think there's a great deal more mileage in this? Even at 70p they're a snip. Prudence on the divi front is surely an indicator that AAP are playing a longer game and going for 'quality profit'. The new team will want to put the past behind them and show a strong 2nd half performance and beyond. My view is this is a hold/buy and as Ian says, no reason why it shouldn't get back to pre-suspension prices of 90p plus. All views welcome on this one ... meanwhile it stays in my portfolio. Cheers, Charlie | charlie nolan
28/9/2006 10:28 | I agree, reduction in divi is why i sold all my shs today for a nice 24% profit inc divi. | oniabsta |
