16/6/2014 06:27 | The potential returns for an investor in the UK fracking industry are mouth- watering. Today, 6:15 AM | logans run
10/6/2014 18:30 | RNS after hours : Completion of transfer of onshore shale gas business to Egdon | mortimer7
03/6/2014 08:34 | I make it that we are nearly £4million better of since the transfer to Egdon. | rogash
30/5/2014 23:50 | Edgon Resources have been given a thumbs up for the deal by Edison Its their opinion we sold the pick of the licences for circa $350/acre but they could be worth $2000/acre. However the flip side was that we could never take these licences to fruition ourselves and were too small overall to tempt the bigger players with the deeper pockets required. As we've kept the CMM, received $8m and got an 18% share in any upside of a decent sized bit of bait it's probably a pragmatic deal for us too. | cyfran101
14/5/2014 13:53 | I wonder who instigated the deal between EDR & ALK | au24
14/5/2014 09:26 | Don't forget that ALK have also gained an interest in the rest of EDRs business as well. | spaceparallax
14/5/2014 09:02 | Well just the begining of a long term ride for me. Pleased with the recent news and even more pleased with the recent share price weakness over last few months as it has give me opportunity to add. | bigdazzler
13/5/2014 18:35 | LOL Succinctly put Mach. | au24
13/5/2014 17:54 | Well Tim if fracking is the next big thing and Alkane has sold all its licenses for 20% then EDR has 80% of the upside and double its acreage. If ALK can grow its own business and benefit from a leap in EDR then the deal will look sweeter. For now it looks like they resemble a bride who gives everything away to the first suitor despite knowing they will be screwed later on. | mach100
13/5/2014 15:08 | The market seems to like the deal from EDR's point of view better than from ALK's. Why so? | timnet
13/5/2014 10:38 | ALK also to supply the engines to EDR as part of the deal. 'In addition, Alkane and Egdon have signed a Memorandum of Understanding providing for Alkane to supply engines for Egdon and connectivity to the grid for any gas produced.' | au24
13/5/2014 09:38 | From todays RNS, this will certainly make next results look good: "The 40,000,000 Egdon shares are valued at £8m based on Egdon's equity fundraising price of 20p per share. This will be treated as an exceptional profit in Alkane's 2014 accounts after offsetting deal costs and some acreage carrying value" | mortimer7

12/5/2014 21:54 | Ta Mort, an interesting article. | spaceparallax
12/5/2014 13:02 | Sadly, the old ways have never gone; or more to the point in society most of the good old ways Have gone, but many bad traits linger. Greed and personal gain remains alive and unwell! | spaceparallax
12/5/2014 12:22 | Surely someone should be investigating how this news got leaked or are we back to old ways again. | red army
12/5/2014 11:09 | ALK's expertise is not in shale gas..linking up with a company that specialises in that area seems to me to be a good move. Going forward it will also help with a sum of parts valuation of ALK. | stevenlondon3
12/5/2014 10:51 | I'm not sure whether this is a good deal. It's hard to quantify the value of the shale licences and how much their exploitation would cost. Personally, I'd rather retain the licences and await approaches from others to better assess that worth. | spaceparallax
12/5/2014 10:35 | Earlier suspension now lifted after the above announcement | mortimer7
12/5/2014 10:26 | Further update just issued: | mortimer7 |
