12/5/2014 10:07 | Anyone care to guess as to the likely outcome in terms of equivalent share price?? | red army
12/5/2014 08:08 | Guess the relevant announcement is due in the next hour or two. EMPORARY SUSPENSION OF TRADING ON AIM ALKANE ENERGY PLC At the request of the company trading on AIM for the under-mentioned securities has been temporarily suspended from 12/05/2014 7:45am, pending an announcement | puffintickler
11/5/2014 22:17 | that must be your best performing stock then, only 65% down | stockonomist
11/5/2014 17:40 | Well lets hope so jack. I bought these at 106p so 65% down. Egdon is a much smaller company so we need the shares to do well to make it worth it. Egdon were 7 or 8p on the 2nd of December 2013 and shot up to 33p before retracing to 20.5p today. A broker has a rating of 32p on them before this as yet unconfirmed news so we might get some further upside on our stake. Does anyone know how many licenses Alkane hold in total or is it a job lot sold? | mach100
11/5/2014 17:28 | Just read the article. Alkane are presumably under no pressure to do any deals, so I would think it probably is a good deal otherwise why do it? | truffle
11/5/2014 16:32 | Good deal ??? | jackall
09/5/2014 16:50 | looks like the sp's responding to the recent fracking news. | spaceparallax
08/5/2014 08:22 | I agree that fracking could provide tremendous energy security. Much is down to how we statutorily constrain the operators to ensure that their environmental responsibilities are taken seriously. Also, the operators need to adopt a far less greedy approach and to provide reassurance that the cost of shale gas will seriously undercut the international market prices and that they will hand over a meaningful proportion of their revenue (not profits) to the communities in which they operate. To date all we've heard is 'don't expect any price discount and we only intend to scatter crumbs to the locals'. This must change before fracking can have any future in the UK. I'd be interested to know who the Lords' cheerleaders are and just how much of an interest they have in the industry. | spaceparallax
08/5/2014 07:29 | Lords: Fracking should be 'urgent priority' for UK ???? | jackall

01/5/2014 10:27 | Steady growth continues (after allowing for maintenance shutdown), just what I like to see. Should drift UP from here. | puffintickler
01/5/2014 10:09 | Truffle /because of planned shutdown previously flagged. | drsous
01/5/2014 10:02 | Yes, seems a good update but not sure why output is 48GWh in the first quarter of 2014 as against 51GWh for the first quarter last year. | truffle
01/5/2014 09:01 | Pleased with todays RNS. ALK seems to be very much off the radar & steadily go about their business. | mortimer7
01/5/2014 08:29 | Today's TS reads well | spaceparallax
24/4/2014 21:24 | re. jumbo66 24 Apr'14 - 20:41 - 6773 of 6773 Good point! Well made, too. | 2baffled
17/4/2014 09:14 | henderson's offloading is pinning down the share price - I don't see why they're doing it. | spaceparallax
08/4/2014 20:08 | Overdue some news on 3 Nooks surely? | cyfran101
02/4/2014 11:25 | It would seem that Alkane`s sites are also sitting above vast deposit of coal according to a map of coal reserves! Recovery of Coal bed Methane uses the fracking method. | dan de lion
02/4/2014 09:41 | I wonder what level Henderson intend to retain? | spaceparallax
01/4/2014 12:33 | Got to laugh at the Mossfield Colliery story in the press - drilling until 2040 apparently. Be in bloody Australia by then... | pumph
01/4/2014 00:46 | Angus I heard the same thing a few days ago. It was a lady but can't recall the name who said they could add 10% to our power generation by getting mothballed power stations up and running again. I don't think anyone told her that currently its uneconomical to bring gas power station back on (That's been the case for 2-3 years now) and that it takes up to 12 months to bring these power stations back online. I'd imagine the government would have to announce some kind of incentive and then you would add on 12 months to that. If they want to tackle the 15-16 crunch then they'd better get their skates on! | cyfran101
31/3/2014 15:06 | The April oil stock challenge is still on. Deadline for entry is midnight today 31 March. Cheers, fb | flyingbull |
