Flaring started on 3 Nooks
January 31st, 2014 No Comments »
Activity has recommenced at 3 Nooks Farm.

Since drilling and repair of the leaking wells was completed last August, the site has been quiet. The site became quiet after the drilling equipment had been removed.

That is apart from some unscheduled activity around late November where equipment suddenly appeared. When questioned, Seven Start stated that they had to replace a small component that had become faulty.

Judging by the amount of equipment brought back on site for a few days work, it was no small component. When questions were asked it appears the small component was a length of casing. Exactly how a steel tube can "become faulty" is unknown. One can imagine the amount of equipment and personnel suddenly appearing without prior warning by the liaison committee might arouse concerns that this was an urgent repair.

When asked if there had been a leak, the reply was evasive but eventually confirmed there had been no leak. Exactly what had needed such a response is still unclear.

Now the site is active again performing the planned flaring and analysis of the gas below. It would appear the schedule of work is somewhat unreliable and can be changed at a whim. A little bit like the weather. Flaring remains an environmental concern as the process releases some toxins in small amounts and this may affect the community close by. Probably unlikely – but still a concern.

In the meantime, planning applications for 3 Nooks wind turbine and others move ahead despite some setbacks in planning. One might wonder at the obsession of some to ruin an area of natural beauty....!

Cut from here;-

I sold half my Share Club's hold at 50 last week.

I've just recommended that we buy back.

A rare WIN-WIN for us - this is a long term no-brainer even withough shale gas.

I'm perfectly happy to sit tight here - a solid business with or without the fracking potential.

I'm guessing that your question is rhetorical, corrientes, but one possible literal explanation can be found in posts 6690 and 6699.

The dangers of getting caught up in over-enthusiasm, perhaps?

Bursting of hype on fraccing and related activities which boosted these type companies, not to mention worries about world fiancés ?

Looks like Henderson are responsible for the dip. I wonder how much they're looking to sell.

Is ALK the sort of company that could float off its fracking plays as a separate entity ?

I'm not.

It's time to deramp so that the 'smart' money can buy back in after selling into the froth.

I'm amazed at that downgrade and suspect that it'll be out of line with most informed observers.

Might be some profit takers moved in. Don't know why this has fallen as this will soon be in the 50s, Solid performance and the fracking bonus. What's not to like?

Nice update today to give some assurance that the core service is doing well. Nice to see output going up and prices holding. Surely undervalued even after a recent run up.

Postive mention in IC this week as a good shale gas trade. I can see this on a steady climb north as interest grows.
