13/12/2018 13:52 | I'm with you saltaire on a like-for-like comparison with HL. In three months there will be another FTSE Review and AJB will be in the FTSE350 barring any trading blips. That should ensure there is some support for the share price and we may see a nice rise ahead of it. In the short term there is bound to be volatility. | doubleorquits
13/12/2018 13:29 | Umitw- no, the rns is just confirmation of the ipo shares. They’re locked in now at that level for six months I think. The shares are cheap at £2.33. Salty | saltaire111
13/12/2018 12:52 | I certainly off loaded mine yesterday in the hope of getting back in around £1.80 or so. Most IPO's it's better to wait until the dust settles. Time will tell, but a quick 40%+ is worth banking. | riskblue
13/12/2018 11:00 | Is Invesco off loading some shares? | umitw
12/12/2018 16:35 | There have been an awful lot of buys going through in the last 20 minutes, mostly for £5,000 worth of stock. Highest price traded was 249.81, last price 247.9. Given the high number of buys at the close, the closing auction could well push the price to close at over 250p. Not a bad day's work. | eaaxs06
12/12/2018 16:32 | Has anyone seen any dividend forecasts? From my previous post! Intention to divi out 65% of prev yrs after tax profit, 40% interim, 25% Final & potential Special divis. Can only guess on last yrs figs just divide last yrs after tax figs by no of shares in issue? | thedarkyhorse
12/12/2018 16:24 | I think the likely dividend is about 4.6p per share | sauron
12/12/2018 14:19 | They were expecting a pullback today(including myself) hoping PI's would take a quick profit on the first day they are allowed to sell..its not happened so no choice but to buy if they want in! :-) | 0rient
12/12/2018 13:24 | Has anyone seen any dividend forecasts? Digital Look has a forecast of 15.9%, which looks suspect! | lizafl
12/12/2018 13:09 | The main reason for listing (they didn't need to raise any cash) was to raise their profile. This makes a lot of sense to me. As most of their customers are by definition investors in the stock market they will be more inclined to use the services of a company which is itself listed. Thus I expect them to pick up a lot of extra business for SPPS and ISAs going forward. AJB Should be a good growth and income stock for everyone's SIPP. | someuwin

12/12/2018 12:35 | I completely agree with you, saltaire, I was completely amazed they priced it on approx a third discount to Hargreaves Lansdown. Hindsight is a wonderful thing; I just wish I’d have waded in with a market order to top up early on Friday morning. Good luck everyone, Sid. | eaaxs06
12/12/2018 12:22 | Looking very strong now. I really do not understand how the book runner got to price this quite so cheaply. It was so obviously under-priced. I wish my order for shares had not been scaled back! Salty | saltaire111
12/12/2018 12:10 | 7 p spread? Why...? | umitw
12/12/2018 10:19 | It’s good to see a more orderly market than the past few days of conditional trading, when sells outweighed buys by huge amount. Irrespective of who was allowed to trade, I can never work out why there is ever such a huge disparity? If someone has sold a share, surely someone has bought a share? Yes, I know the positions are guessed, but why aren’t both trades recorded? | eaaxs06
12/12/2018 09:41 | Decent start, now available to trade on main market. | saltaire111
08/12/2018 22:26 | gripfit, you advertise your ignorance without aplomb - however if you do wish to short use one of the spreadbetting companies - individual investors cannot short stocks directly. | toffeeman
08/12/2018 19:22 | jee whizz ,,,,, looks like another AO /ASTON MARTIN floatation....... Is it possible to SHORT stocks with this broker ?? no harm intended,,, just curious | gripfit
08/12/2018 18:54 | Hi all, I also have been a siipdeal/AJ Bell customer for a fair no of yrs.( when there was no custody charges, yes correct, just dealing costs!) Nice to hear of existing AJ Bell customers who have bought in! IPO`s are not the best thing to buy into generally. But it appears A J Bell customers have done so in their droves! Based on reports here prob oversubscribed by at least 2.5 times! Institutional investors probably oversubscribed on a higher ratio? We may well hear soon? My opinion? This is a very smart, clever and grounded guy! Dont believe all that you read? Well I get the feeling it is probably close to the truth. Google and read up! Have many people even heard of him? In my opinion probably not and that is including people who live on his doorstep! He doesnt seem to seek the limelight. I became aware of him as I have always had a strong interest in Pensions and moved to the original Sippdeal set up. Ordinary working class guy who has a terrific talent. Actuary trained who has a mathematical talent. Started with his mate in 1995 with £10k loan. Could of been bought out years ago when his mate retired out in 2007 when shares sold to Institution. He didnt want to and remained as shareholder. Run the company as if a PLC for 1 yrs since then. Made a lot of money via dividend allocations since. Decided to float and only reduced approx 3% of his stake ( why not have some more cream off the top? ) Makes sense, I would. Institution reduced their stake substantially from 2007 holding and they get a big wack £££ He says just going the normal IPO route of Institutions only having the first bite did not feel right. Felt that was just a job for the boys! Insisted on his existing retail customers having opportunity of investing hence us who have done. And promised to squeeze more if need be from the Institutions which I assume he did. (20% of float I believe?) Even though we only got approx 40% of what we asked for, still a nice chunk for us. As I said I believe he is a very clever astute shrewd guy. I would guess that has cemented a loyal customer base as it stands at present for a fair time. His company have been voted in the past to be amongst the top 100 in the country to work for. Big not very old office buildings in Manchester of 750 staff. Not operated on debt. High wealth clientele. look at the profits for less than 200,000 individuals. Imagine just doubling that? Owns their own Trading Platform. Has been an Administrator for a no of Sipp providers. ( Even Barclays Sipp was administerd by AJ Bell but the charges were a lot higher )I know read it with my own eyes. Any required funding evolved from profits Intention to divi out 65% of prev yrs after tax profit, 40% interim, 25% Final & potential Special divis. Stated in papers his family would be investing. He states publicly he didnt have to work again yrs ago! Lock in for him of no more share sales for 1 yr and max 50% for the further following yr. Main market listing............. Dont forget he has already been very successful during a period of Final Salary Pension Schemes. They are a thing of the past and are generally now Defined Contribution Schemes. They need a vehicle, and the potential is big to be that vehicle and gain share. He could have floated the lot for mega mega money! To me he feels there is a lot,lot more mileage in his company and I as an investor want to ride on his coat tails hence my investment. I reckon the Institutions want our stakes a.s.a.p. I would think there is a lot of market share to gain from Hargreaves Landsdowne myself. I can dream this is the next HL but over a quicker time period. If it all goes all wrong then that is investing, but he has a lot more to lose than us. Read it up its all out there to view! I tip my Cap to Andy Bell. You delivered what you promised thus far and let us join the party. Thanks! I really hope the second part of the story enables me to come back in a few yrs and thank you again! And if as I have read he is a lifelong Evertonian, then I have even more confidence and hope! | thedarkyhorse
07/12/2018 16:12 | Hi Orient - it's been a while! Been taking a much quieter profile looking for longer term plays - have been with AJ Bell for years so happy to own a small slice of them, now wishing I'd been braver, but this time yesterday was wondering if I was going to get a full allocation! | ian davenport |
