08/9/2022 08:37 | Appears we have effectively given up on that investment to focus on our own company if it wasn't worth popping in a couple of million into the series A. Bit of a shame as they seem to be making some half decent progress, albeit rather slowly. | marketmuser1
08/9/2022 08:32 | So another RNS this morning ....portfolio company Bond Pet Foods has completed its Series A financing round - raising US$ 17.5 million. So for Agronomics (admittedly small) investment then his means a multiple on invested capital of 6.22 and an internal rate of return of 84% on their initial investment. | livewireplus
07/9/2022 07:57 | That's a decent grant and given we own 20% of the company is not insignificant. I can see that protein being hugely in demand. Does anyone know if this type of single protein replacement for egg white would be considered vegan and/or suitable for those with egg allergies? If so, that would be game changing | donald pond

01/8/2022 10:51 | I don't buy anything with palm oil in it so an alternative would be brilliant. I could enjoy digestive biscuits again for one thing. Its in loads of stuff once you start looking. The amount of deforestation that results from palm oil plantations is enormous so a possible alternative could be huge. | nivison
01/8/2022 07:54 | Interesting news today. "The global palm oil market reached a value of US$ 50.6 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach US$ 65.5 billion by 2027..." | someuwin
25/7/2022 11:40 | Looks like the tuna sausages are doing a good job for the share price .... :-) | livewireplus
22/7/2022 12:46 | now there's a thought > what price for fatty tuna sausages? > bring them on or bring them up :-) | cougar99
22/7/2022 12:41 | One interesting thing came from the leather company, where one of the cornerstone investors was Kering, the owner of Prada, Balenciaga etc. Made me realise that I had initially thought cellular proteins would be all bout producing a "slurry" for the mass market, whereas I think the reality is going to be to produce a luxury product for those who want to pay for less cruelty. Some of the lab grown fish for sushi seems to indicate that is the goal. If you can grow fatty tuna in a lab, you'll make a fortune compared to producing sausages | donald pond
22/7/2022 12:36 | someuwin > not too far away > aisle 3, shelves 2 & 3 ;-) donald pond > thank you for the Yoro dog food details > I'll check out what it tastes like :-) | cougar99
22/7/2022 12:30 | It's difficult to really predict. In some places (Singapore, Israel) they are already available. But for the UK I'd suggest we are probably 3-4 years away. Regulation may be part of the issue which may cause the EU to lag behind further as French farmers stamp their feet. I think dairy and pet food are likely to come first. Buying for the dog yesterday I see the insect based brand Yoro sells for a 20% premium over the expensive alternatives. | donald pond
22/7/2022 11:37 | I would happily pay a very significant premium to buy cultivated meat products. How far away are we from seeing such things available in the supermarkets? | someuwin
22/7/2022 09:10 | I'd say this isn't a bad time to buy. There are few sectors with such long term potential and no other way I know of to get diversified exposure | donald pond
22/7/2022 07:08 | Only a modest premium now ....NAV calculation as at closing on 30 June 2022 was 15.27 pence per share. | livewireplus

09/7/2022 20:02 | I agree with the Citywire article. Vegetable meat alternatives are simply processed foods. The Beyond Meat 'pork' sausage is pretty grim, while the Richmond and other similar soy based 'pork' sausages just tastes like a low quality supermarket sausage, which is somewhat acceptable, and at a much lower price. Beyond Meat still has plenty further to go down IMO. | hpcg
