I was fortunate enough to bank profits north of 30p but “unfortunate” enough to reinvest at 25p. I still think this sector has legs for years to come. They clearly have enough investments lined up for now. I guess they will then raise again for the next round of fundraisers in c 9 months. Their NAV will probably be north of 20p by then so could be raising at 30p plus. Just pure speculation on my part of course.

It shows what sort of company they are when they leak placing information to drive the share price down.

What is a bit baffling TFC is that its only 5 months ago they raised £55m. This £25m must have taken a bit of planning so say they were thinking about it 6 weeks ago. It suggests they really had no idea of their investment rate (£55m over the next 9 months was what JM said).

If things are looking far rosier than they could ever have dreamed off, well fair enough, grab the opportunity, but nothing seems to have been said to that effect.

They are going for a low price, so its not like they are using a high price to get more bang for their buck either.

If 9 months of investment has actually been used up or earmarked in 5 months, why have they gone for only £25m. Thats only another 2.5 months at current rate. Do we expect to see another raising mid-feb 22?

Just lots of questions without good answers available.

It will be interesting to see how much demand their is for the retail element this time. You can buy at less than the placing and the warrants at 1-28 don't appear overly attractive to make up for it?

fyi..........what exactly is ...'baffling' about this?

Use of Proceeds and Pipeline Investments

The net proceeds of the Fundraise and Open Offer after expenses will principally be used by the Company to finance further investment into current portfolio companies and projects and investment in new opportunities within the cellular agriculture sector (and other related sectors). The Company currently is in advanced discussions to make investments of up to US$52 million in 6 new and existing portfolio companies covering category leaders in both cell culture and fermentation technologies and spanning the range from pre-seed to series B. In addition to these very near-term opportunities, the Company has a significant pipeline of additional identified leads and expected funding rounds for existing portfolio companies.

bit baffled here....from press release on 5th November, ANIC had uninvested cash of £55.1 million...since then they have invested USD1.5 million investment in Ohayo Valley, and now about three and a half weeks later they want to raise another £25 million!!!!!
A few thousand words designed to confuse in the latest Press release

Its a strange one to value. So far this year it has traded at various multiples to NAV from x2 to x6. We are now under x2. The funding cycle will continue for their investments at ever increasing valuations. I expect a further fund raise within 12 months. I would be amazed if it was anything like to 22p last time.

I certainly wasn't expecting that, but given the price action plenty knew. Slightly underwhelmed at the price and not sure why they would need it now.

It used to Nick but, I believe the technology has moved on. At least that's what I remember Jim Mellon saying in one of his interviews.

Billy, price parity will be easier with existing meat production subsidies removed and actually having them pay full price for the full cost of product. Do farmers have to buy carbon credits?

Anox, doesnt the start of the process require sourced currently from animal foetuses?

Big note out from Barclays on cultured meat. The headlines are they see a $450bn opportunity (20% of global meat market by 2040). They think cultured meat is bigger disrupter than plant protein. Also they have an expectation of price parity within 5 to 10 years.

I think this blip is just a tree shake. So, I had another look at the proactive interview with Jim Mellon & Anthony Chow, and to be honest, for me, it's a peek into the future of food and a really disruptive business model. The UK gov also launched a £27m fund today to support farmers with grants to buy new equipment and help to transform farming businesses. Some of this funding could easily find it's way into cell based meat and obviously Agronomics could help to drive this. I'm a long term holder.
