15/11/2006 15:23 | I wonder if the Enodis merger talk has pushed Aga into the takeover limelight and another party is taking an interest?? | bigbertie
15/11/2006 14:10 | Erin, how many AGAs does your wife need?! | edmundshaw
15/11/2006 13:11 | Erin Has your wife bought another 1000 today? mct | mctmct
08/11/2006 08:13 | So where's the RNS Erin? ;-) | edmundshaw
07/11/2006 19:52 | Probably the knowledge that my wife bought 1000 shares in her SIPP to get the 10% discount on her new AGA! | erinbrok
07/11/2006 18:55 | Anyone have a clue why this shot up this afternoon? | sibacky
07/11/2006 11:26 | these EPT disclosures are boring. | bigbertie
07/11/2006 09:30 | Any bets on when we beat the May high? mct | mctmct
03/11/2006 19:40 | Maybe , though looks like Enodis playing hard to get , so presumably no deal unless Aga pay a premium price. Impressed by the Rangemaster product - Aga's conventional oven series made in Warwick.Solid and classic ; though didn't enjoy fitting it - HEAVY! There will always be a demand for these sort of products , even if a Chinese manufacturer offered one at half the price .It would take them a while to get a significant market share I suspect. The brand names are worth a lot. Maybe even 435 .But not this year?! | wad collector
03/11/2006 09:47 | Looks as if AGA is now very much "in play". | sandbank
26/10/2006 19:03 | You may be right but I am baling out if we hit 420.The yield is looking less enticing now. | wad collector
26/10/2006 15:38 | wad collector, we're getting closer... :-) I've top sliced at 415p just in case... after all there's less upside now. | edmundshaw
26/10/2006 12:33 | Are we about to see a new high? mct | mctmct
13/10/2006 11:09 | The five year shart shows the price pretty much on trend now. mct | mctmct
24/9/2006 21:56 | Their short term volatility but long term stability makes them tempting to do some short term trading too.But I usually manage to time it wrong and end up sitting on shares for years, but I will await the next dip. | wad collector
22/9/2006 13:49 | Hmph! Well I bought a few more at 350-something and sold them at just under 375; trading these is giving me more than the dividend at the moment. Average price for core holding is under 300p, from less than a year ago, so not hurting at least... Now let me finish my banana in peace! ;-) | edmundshaw
22/9/2006 13:39 | Well , it doesn't look so likely now to happen this year without a bid rumour. Is that a speck of yellow I spot on your chin? | wad collector
21/9/2006 13:49 | y-e-e-e-es? | edmundshaw
21/9/2006 09:31 | Edmundshaw - about that 435 target...... | wad collector
08/9/2006 21:21 | I agree , the price fall seems an over-reaction to what , although not stunning ,were a pretty solid set of figures.I will add on Monday unless bounces a lot.Safe haven I reckon , even if no prospect of massive rise. And my wife bought a Rangemaster cooker yesterday .She only bought it because it is currently the only UK electric built in oven available in green to match the Rayburn! Wonder why I bother sometimes....though I'll post if I am impressed by it when it comes. | wad collector
08/9/2006 11:59 | Mention of possible weakening in US consumer demand may have worried some, but I would not have expected this to affect AGA much, as they are at the higher end of the market. Anyhow I'm definitely still in, it's a growth company on a sensible forward p/e with net cash and a reasonable dividend. That could even put it onto private equity radar screens. Good luck all. | bigbertie
08/9/2006 11:33 | I think some were expecting better results, or at least H1 earnings. Given that this is a long term growth story with no sign of faltering, that would seem somewhat short-sighted to me. Assuming 27p minimum for the full year, and a 6 month forward PE of 15, this would give a share price target of 408p (3.5p dividend included). Yield is close to 3% and we will still have FY earnings from Eloma and Amana to come for 2008 as well as further earnings even from current sales levels. The organic growth is also impressive, given that not all the acquisitions can be selling yet in all the target markets. And IMO the positioning for healthy and low fuel cost/emissions has got to be right. I've added around 354p. | edmundshaw
08/9/2006 09:27 | Looks good to me. Why the drop, I wonder? And where's the ADFN flag that there is new news? Isn't this automated? mct | mctmct
08/9/2006 08:15 | These results are better than they look at first sight. Steady progress continues, and the prognosis for H2 leads me to expect at least 27p EPS for the full year, without the (probably small intitial) benefits of Amana. "The markets of our home furnishings operations at Domain and Grange remained soft. After a management restructuring and with a strong new product programme, a better second half is expected. The first half results included costs for reorganisation and stock clearances." Loss on disposal of property, plant and equipment jumped from £100k to £1.8m, and from the comparatives point of view, the £0.7 million interest on overpaid tax received last year was of course not repeated. I think the Amana acquisition is potentially very good; if they can sell their products to a wider market this should generate an excellent ROCE. I shall be holding and adding on dips. | edmundshaw
08/8/2006 12:15 | News of the Eco Friendly Deep Fat Fryers has gone very quiet. They were in trial with several big Multi National Fast Food Chains. If even one of these contracts is secured a £4 share price should be very quickly reached. I heard a rumour late last year that they were getting a production line ready in Scotland but it would seem just as likely that manufacture would be in China or India etc. | boite mobile |
