17/10/2018 09:45 | The distribution arm of APC did £11.2m in 2017, FBM will add a couple of million (but isn't organic). You can't imo count the lighting division as distribution. Forecasts (on stockopedia) for 2018 & 2019 are £17.5m & £19.8m which includes the faster growing lighting division. Agree the book to bill ratio this year has been excellent and hoping those forecasts will be beaten, I imagine some of the booking will though be multiyear so won't necessarily fall into current year. | cockerhoop
17/10/2018 08:58 | Rinson, SOLI's distribution business revenue is close to double that of APC's and has superior organic growth (20% between 2017 & 2018) It does though have some issues in it's very high margin antenna division which has held back overall company growth recently. Both companies have decent prospects imo. Edit: Look forward to chatting to Richard & GHF (Playful are you down??) in Chiswick! | cockerhoop
17/10/2018 08:54 | Morning folks, Looks like quite a few of us read the SOLI t/s with a sense of anticipation this morning as a read across to APC. “The Value Added Distribution division has had a particularly strong period, delivering growth in revenues and margins. In addition to this, the Division has benefitted from a one off client order of circa £1.0m in the first half. Of the two divisions, Value Added Distribution feels the greater benefit of foreign exchange tailwinds. This significant growth has meant that Value Added Distribution now represents just over half of Group revenues in H1. The securing of the exclusive VPT franchise announced in April 2018 is expected to positively impact the second half.” SOLI appears to have benefitted from gaining the VPT franchise that previously sat with APC. That said, it’s the direction of travel reported by both APC & SOLI that’s important here as rinson & geraldus have remarked. Look forward to meeting up with the APC team, & hopefully some of the investors/ posters here, in just under 6-weeks at Mello London (Chiswick) when I’m sure we’ll learn more on the future direction of the business. Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull
17/10/2018 08:10 | Yes rinson,I like to watch the sector and SS is a mixed bag but now firing on all cylinders, well off its highs.APC still in the shadows but will emerge like a crouching tiger - hopefully. | geraldus
17/10/2018 07:55 | Geraldus. Very good results! Would indicate SS value added distribution business similar in size to APc and growing at similar ratE. SS a strange mix of manufacturing and component distribution. We are now not hindered by manufacturing or the losses generated by the water business so can see us moving ahead in future years. | rinson
17/10/2018 07:24 | Solid State which has similar business lines put an excellent update out today.Bodes well generally. | geraldus
15/10/2018 11:01 | I saw it on the patisserie Valerie board over the weekend - thanks for the clarification - it was nothing specific to apc just mentioning that taking a 30mil hit on cake may mean sales elsewhere | ronwilkes123
15/10/2018 10:51 | Why would Octopus do that, they are in EIS and VCT funds and dictated by the timings of those. | 18bt
15/10/2018 08:19 | Rumour octopus will sell down other holdings to cover their hit on patisserie Valerie - octopus hold here | ronwilkes123

10/10/2018 20:41 | Couldn’t agree more playful. Delighted that Roger is a buyer & it certainly puts to bed any notion that his shareholding was an overhang over the share price. As you say, this a big vote of confidence in the strategy employed by Richard Hodgson & his team. Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull
10/10/2018 17:25 | Now that’s a big vote of confidence! The fact the company founder has increased his position certainly demonstrates his belief the future here looks bright. | playful
09/10/2018 17:02 | diku - Good to see you casting your eye over APC. If you’ve a minute I’d be interested on how you arrived at 5.75 as the price you consider them a good buy? Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull
09/10/2018 16:13 | I stand corrected serious buying pressure has arrived | ronwilkes123
09/10/2018 15:14 | MMs taking full bid atm with little or no buying interest at these levels | ronwilkes123
09/10/2018 14:53 | The buying pressure at these low levels - one keen buyer today bought £50 worth of stock | ronwilkes123
09/10/2018 10:01 | Maybe a good buy at 5.75p?... | diku
09/10/2018 09:36 | NT to sell atm seems to go against your argument that the mms were happy to take a 5 million sale | ronwilkes123 |
