Interesting article in the Times today about sensors being installed above train seats for the first time to detect which are being used by passengers and prevent carriages being left half empty.

Another simple application of one of our key products which does give an idea of the huge market APC Smart Wave can address.

Agree entirely with your post above brownie69...which won’t surprise anyone.

As I mentioned in my lengthy write-up yesterday morning, I was inside on the placing so had the opportunity to evaluate the opportunity, both in terms of the benefits in acquiring Aspen but also using £800k of the £2.5m raise to repay loan notes & remove a significant chunk of the interest burden. Other posters disagree.

It is an excellent deal - again all IMO - as I intimated in my originating post yesterday. Rivaldo kindly mentioned that Stockdale have increased FY18/19 earnings forecasts by +32% in light of yesterday’s acquisition & raise their target price to 12p.

Earnings growth now accelerates from an estimated +35% growth to +79% growth for FY18/19. This would place the shares on a PER of 10.

A great deal by Richard and the team.

I'm not sure why certain posters harp back to the past pre the current team. Richard etc have done a great job on turning around the fortunes of this business and I'm delighted they have raised some cash for this deal which not only looks to be a good fit but its also highly accretive for shareholders.

The strategy has been well flagged and I have been in the market yesterday and today buying as its looking quite undervalued to me.

Judging by the recent volume in the stock there is a big seller but thats what makes a market. I remain a buyer at these levels and I look forward to the next similar type of deal once this is integrated.

I'm just glad that I didn't buy my small holding in 2013 when the share price was around 70p. If I had I wouldn't have thought of my glass being half full, more like useless in the current weather conditions! I bought mine 2 years ago and didn't realise that the jam tomorrow was going to be red not blue.

I've only briefly looked at this company before. There is some reader interest in the stock, so I thought I'd quickly mention it.

APC describes itself as:

the provider of design-in, specification and distribution services for specialist electronic components and systems, lighting technologies and connectivity products
Its products and services are used in everything from aerospace to logistics and commercial real estate.

Today it announces the issuance of £3 million of new shares. Shares and cash totaling £2.2 million will then form the payment for Aspen Electronics, a distributor of electronic components. "Top line synergy opportunities" are sought, i.e. increased aggregate revenues.

The deal values Aspen at 4x historic EBITDA. That could turn out to be cheap, I reckon.

I've had to come out of hibernation to address your post questioning GHF. That is frankly way out of line. You really can't question his integrity. Allow me a minute please:
Me and GHF may not agree on some shares we hold (he's obviously in the wrong on those ones) but I have to respect his opinion as I know first hand that this guy really knows his stuff and isn't pushing an agenda or doesn't have an ulterior motive. He has bought more to the PI community over the last 10-15 years + than many of us have in terms of not just ideas but his thought process behind them. I can disagree with him on a share no problem but let's not get personal when his record is untainted. Finally, GHF doesn't shy away from his losers and that takes a real man to own up to them.

Rant over. Let's please keep it civil.
