23/1/2014 08:11 | And now we fall ? | fenners66
22/1/2014 08:36 | A bit of a re-rating seems to be going on here. And the dividend is icing on the cake! | trulyscrumptious
22/1/2014 08:35 | Well, its why I bought, but did not expect the sudden jump. | fenners66
22/1/2014 08:23 | That is us above the July high and heading towards the all time high of just under £18. | this_is_me
21/1/2014 15:07 | The new range has significant support around 1390 as we move toward results. Goldman always getting it right! However, NEXT is the runaway UKX performer for me of late. Nothing but positives ;-) | nicksoj
21/1/2014 11:18 | Up again, just rotation? | fenners66
17/1/2014 15:37 | Its car insurers.... | upthediff
17/1/2014 13:56 | That is amazing, up 6% at the moment or +80p. No complaints from me either Midas! edit. A bit later... Golly, it's over 7% now or +95p. I only have 1900 shares so it's not an earth-shattering amount but even so... | trulyscrumptious
17/1/2014 12:50 | Sold some Smiths News some months ago after running up from 75p to 208p, then put some of it in here. Smiths continued to rise reaching around 240 whilst these were also modestly gaining. However I think with this rise today Admiral may just have overtaken Smiths as they have fallen back a touch. What really attracted me here was the dividend yield potential as this in theory had overtaken Smiths, we shall see if that proves correct. | fenners66
17/1/2014 10:12 | FTSE 100 stocks in auction now, must be options expiry day. | m1das_touch
17/1/2014 10:10 | Now up 5.5% on the day...interesting! Could it have something to do with them selling minority stakes in their American comparison site www.comparenow.com? I know that was reported a few days ago, but just wondering if perhaps there's more to it, tie up with an American insurer or something? Could, of course, just be a strong re-rating beginning. Either way, no complaints from me! | m1das_touch
17/1/2014 08:53 | No, but it's certainly storming ahead and is up over 4% at the moment. | trulyscrumptious
17/1/2014 08:31 | Anyone know why the jump this morning? | fenners66
06/1/2014 12:47 | Seems to be recovering, | trulyscrumptious
18/12/2013 05:49 | The government should offer a basic cheap third party only option themselves. Given that they impose car insurance on us by law. All the more so for the experienced low risk drivers out there (including myself obviously) who never make a claim and have no points and yet still see their premiums rocketing year in year out. You'd soon see true competition return to the broken car insurance market. | spob
17/12/2013 09:58 | I think the announcement on cutting motor insurance is another piece of political rhetoric. The sector is very competitive with several major players , which leaves only genuine cost cutting measures. Will the Government reduce/cancel the 5% tax ?- no chance! Will they tackle effectively the whiplash racket - unlikely Can they do anything about young drivers with excess testosterone - no Can they effectively tackle uninsured drivers? why be insured at £500 year when the downside is you might lose your old banger , get 3 points and a small fine you don't pay? All we will see is a few gestures from the insurers like the energy suppliers are doing , because it is just the politicians playing politics. But still not good for shares in the short term? GAN | ganthorpe
03/12/2013 08:34 | I think post 458 summarises the doubts pretty well. Then there is the falling level of new premiums in both price and volume , which is bound to affect profits to some degree. Suggest a careful read of the 11Nov IMS. But still cant help feeling the shares fall is overdone unless there's deeper problems. But I am sitting on what I've got - not a buyer GAN | ganthorpe
03/12/2013 08:22 | Any known reason for the sudden fall this morning? | fenners66
02/12/2013 19:21 | Well I've bought some today. This is a high quality company and management have delivered year in year out. Looks quite good value at this level to me and have been looking at this for some time. | topvest
07/11/2013 13:58 | Interesting: Admiral is the 2nd most shorted stock on the ftse100. Not by me though. Let's hope the Interim Management Statement on the 11th get's some of them running for cover! hxxp://www.trustnet. | strawberrynob
28/10/2013 20:50 | some thing is going on ?? all aboard ' full steam ahead ' | casino444
28/10/2013 13:42 | Todays share price jump could be because of: 1) Numis ups Admiral Group to add from reduce, target, 1425p from 1170p 2) In anticipation of the trading update on 11 Nov | hjs |
