Nicely into profit on today's bets now ;o)
Though I'm not averse to betting downwards whenever it's on a reverse run.

FYI Confused voyers...

ADVFN
Moneysupermarket.com gained 6 at 117-3/4 after UBS upgraded its rating on the company to 'buy' from 'neutral' with the broker commenting that the upcoming results will be better than the market expects.

ADM full year results out 4th March.

richardbonny, I would have to say that company growth and agressive European expansion plans are a good theoretical explanation of current p/e. Results from the first full year in Spain are due on the 6th March along with the UK operation. We should also get an early indication of how the German "good internet market" operation is going.
The company will also be retaining more UK underwriting premium in 2008 rather than passing it on via the different co/reinsurance deals it has in place.

"The Board of Admiral Group plc ("Admiral") announces that it plans to increase
its UK motor premium retention for the 2008 underwriting year to 27.5% from the
current 22.5%".

This should help retain more underwriting profit if you benchmark against the company's previous performances.

Come the 4th March I'm sure we'll be pleasantly surprised ! DYOR

There seems to me to be an awful lot of competition out there. Confused.com is very good but there seem to be other companies trying to muscle in on the action - copmarethemarket.com for example. Does an insurance broker rate a p/e ratio above 20 when other parts of the stock market are absolutely cratering? This looks pricey to me in the current uncertain situation.

Am pretty amazed this one has not tanked more than it has done today. Looks like there might be some bargain hunting tomorrow? Or will tomorrow see the Dow take the Ftse down toward 5,000 ?

Is the bull dead?

You still did very well. That's a very healthy profit. I wonder where you will invest your proceeds?

With the FTSE support over and the financial sector being ignored, looks more like £9 very soon.

It was pure luck - Ive been getting an extension built - fearing the builder was goining to ask for some cash - I sold some

He hasn't asked for any cash and a snag means the 50% payment wont be needed for another week or so - hence I got back in

so as I said more luck than anything - now depends on the share price over the next week

Graham - I know you're still holding! Ah well, if it's a long term plan I'm sure you don't mind too much!

I must admit the chart has 1195p written all over it, but I certainly wouldn't put my money on it! I still believe we are due for a major market correction, and ADM will naturally follow suit.
