Adept4 cuts pre-tax losses as cloud services grow

Managed services player has taken steps to simplify its structure and make a security push with the latest prelim numbers showing progress

Managed services player Adept4 has seen pre-tax losses narrow as its efforts to restructure the business have started to bear fruit.

The firm delivered £0.8m in pre-tax losses for the year to the end of September 2017, which was down from £1.4m in the previous twelve months.

Revenues were also up from £4.9m to £10.3m, with the portion of recurring revenues increasing from £3.2m to £7.3m, which is 71% of the total.

Growth in demand for its Microsoft Azure and Office 365 services helped increase those numbers and the firm has also been adding some complementary solutions into the mix working with other resellers to strike up further opportunities.

One of the major initiatives in the last fiscal year was to create a single platform and operational structure to simplify the business structure.

"The creation of a single operating platform for future growth has been at the heart of everything that we have sought to do in the last 12 months," said Adept4 non-executive chairman Simon Duckworth.

"The successful establishment of an integrated business with a single brand, proposition, structure and platform was imperative, and I am pleased to report our success in achieving this objective," he added.

"Our strategy, which is articulated more fully in the Business Review, remains very straightforward. We aim to provide IT as a Service to our customers on a pay-as-you-go basis, based on consumption of the service and utilising an asset-light delivery model (reducing our investment and leveraging public Cloud providers' investments, particularly those of Microsoft). To succeed we need to "delight" our customers and we need to sufficiently differentiate ourselves from the competition," he stated.

The firm also indicated that since its fiscal year had closed it had been able to beef up its IT security offering and had made further management changes to "strengthen the day to day operational management of the business and enhance credibility in cloud services".

Duckworth also made it clear that the firm would consider adding to its capabilities through acquisition: "We also remain vigilant in looking at acquisition opportunities that provide the appropriate mix of skills, capability and contribution at the right price, and which will enhance growth in our business and increase shareholder value."

New Reseller Agreement & Contract Win

Adept4 plc, the AIM listed provider of 'IT as a Service' ("ITaaS"), is pleased to announce a further extension to its 'asset light' IT solution offerings to specifically address the needs of its customers with regard to IT Security.

Adept4 already successfully offers its customers an appropriate IT security solution commensurate with their requirements. However, with the fast-changing nature of threats and with the upcoming introduction of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) which come into effect in May 2018, the scope of solutions offered needs to be kept under constant review. We are therefore delighted to have been selected as one of the first resellers in the UK for Nyotron, the provider of threat-agnostic end-point security.

Nyotron is Silicon Valley headquartered, with design and research capabilities in Israel and was recently named as one of the Top 50 Cyber Security Leaders of 2017 by Cyber Defence Magazine. It's key product is PARANOID, a threat-agnostic end-point defence technology which distinguishes between legitimate activities carried out by a program or user and threatening activities carried out by attacks and requires no prior knowledge about the threat to be effective. It is directly targeted at protecting against zero day threats as well as traditional ransomware, such as WannaCry, and other end-point attack vectors.

We have already enjoyed success, securing our first order worth £0.2 million in total revenue with a business process outsourcer for a three year term. We are also building a solid pipeline of opportunities which we would expect to deliver as a managed service.

We have made a very good start with this relationship and look forward to building on the momentum with this product over the forthcoming months.

Adept4 plc, the AIM listed provider of 'IT as a Service' ("ITaaS"), is pleased to announce a recent extension to its 'asset light' IT solution offerings which leverages its expertise and customer base in Microsoft (Skype for Business) and telephony.

In the last 12 months we have seen increasing demand from our legacy telephony customers and Office 365 managed service customers for an effective and competitive solution that could provide full contact centre management capabilities, including integration with CRM, other backend business platforms and legacy PBX systems, whilst at the same time taking advantage of the functionality of Skype for Business - which is included within Office 365.

To address this sales demand, Adept4 has recently partnered with Workstreampeople to offer Anywhere365, the largest Contact Centre and Dialogue Management platform native to Microsoft Skype for Business and Office365. Anywhere365 is deployed as critical infrastructure at almost 500 global customers, across 36 countries, across all market sectors, including 27 members of the Fortune Global 500.

Adept4 has already enjoyed early sales success with this solution, securing new contracts worth in excess of £0.3 million in total revenue through:

· Implementation of the Anywhere365 solution for an international contact centre provider during late summer 2017 within extremely tight timescales. Since going live, the platform is processing over 100,000 calls per month; and

· Further orders secured from existing customers in the healthcare, membership and financial service sectors which are currently being implemented.

We look forward to building on the momentum with this product over the forthcoming months.

Nothing against Adept, just why your dramatic change of heart on this RNS, when fundamentally you, not me, were mithering on about MXCP contagion in investee companies and the problems yet to be revealed.
Wish investors here well.
