HG,

# shares in issue has sadly increased over time, growing the market cap in return for little increase in share price. That is a weight. But needs must...

The technology is such that ramp-up should be fairly rapid. As is hinted at in the interview linked above, the supply of feed-stock from what is otherwise waste is enormous and adds massive hidden value to forestry assets.

What price do you put on it? How do you value it?

This has to be a company in the making that will be valued in hundreds of millions. But not just yet, IMO. Would I want to be out though? No, no, no.

New to this share, little research, so excuse my ignorance.
The market cap is £44 million which infers revenues and a profit of say a couple of £ milllion for early stage or promise of significant revenue.
Talk of 15-20p etc will take it to £200 million market cap.
Are the contracts being signed of the scale that will support a market cap of this level?
I’m interested in potentially investing. The technology etc looks great and potential markets look good but trying to understand why the market might value it at say £200 million at this stage or in the next few months?
Thanks in advance.

"Spinks said the deal was great for Alberta, “because its Aspen we’re talking about”.

“Aspen has no real use in any volume,” Spinks explained. “It makes nearly 80% of the forestry in the regions in which we’re going to be operating, so we’re doing a service for the environment, sustainably, hand-in-hand with the requirements of the local population and government.”

Spinks implied that the deal may be even better than it appears at first glance, as the numbers quoted in the stock market statement are “merchantable timber numbers”, whereas AEG’s technology will be able to use forestry residues, waste and other material that is not usually calculated as part of the value proposition or the volume numbers for this type of arrangement”.

“We have a lot of interest from forestry and timber industry, forestry management organisations and so on, who really want to know now what is it that these guys are doing differently,” Spinks said.

“Why is this attractive and why do they operate in places where we don’t? The answer is CoalSwitch,” he added.

Spinks said the company would start off with one CoalSwitch plant but given the size of the area covered by the agreement, it was very likely the company would build further plants in Alberta.

While clearly pleased with today’s deal, Spinks revealed that the company is extremely close to finalising a similar arrangement with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador."

Thanks Cudmore for the interview link. Added to header.

The area in question is the size of Scotland.

Spinks: "Its coming together now... More news soon... Perfect storm..."

I agree this is potentially transformational, but let's not forget the deal with PowerWood will have to be financed, as will the coalswitch plant. I guess once these details are finalised that's when we'll see a bigger movement in the share price I do agree though, it seems a strange time to be selling.

Looks like Powerwood have a similar biomass mission, licences in place but no plant yet built...just a pending project.

Very interesting indeed.

Actually, it is not the news we have been waiting for. The Labrador agreement is still in process and I was beginning to feel a little deflated about how long it was taking again. I believe it will still come and will just take a bit longer.

This I see as being somewhat surprising KICK DOWN THE DOOR news and I am delighted to see that Spinks and co are proactively taking a grip, taking a controlling stake in a company that ALREADY HAS the licences and demonstrating that they can make it work AND demonstrate the sustainable forest management - something that will be key to the Labrador deal. They have today written their commitment big and bold.

It is clear that Spinks expects this to release a series of other agreements provided to AEG Timberlands directly.

"Richard Spinks, Active Energy Chief Executive Officer said, "This MoU represents a further step forward in our focused strategy to secure long-term forestry assets and guarantee feedstock volumes to support our planned roll-out of CoalSwitch(TM) plants in Canada and Europe. I am confident that this arrangement with PowerWood Canada will lead to other governmental and private sector forestry owners signing further commercial agreements with the Company in the near future.

"The MoU will see us utilise at least 300,000 tonnes of fibre annually and highlights the scale of the opportunities available to the Group. We believe we have an excellent platform in place from which to scale up our activities and build Active Energy into a leading producer of environmentally friendly, second generation biomass fuels worldwide. I look forward to providing our shareholders with further updates in due course."

I am confident that this arrangement with PowerWood Canada will lead to other governmental and private sector forestry owners signing further commercial agreements with the Company in the near future.

The phrasing of that leads me to wonder if they have been asked to take this on as a quid pro quo...

We are off and running.

Well done to the management.

DYOR - but don't take too long ;0)
