27/6/2014 14:37 | "ACTA bidding to revolutionise parts of power sector" "Revising GCSE physics and chemistry with my 16-year-old was ideal preparation for this cornerstone article on a unique hydrogen energy company called ACTA (LON:ACTA). Much has been scribbled in the past decade about the use of the gas as an alternative to the fossil fuels currently turning the upper reaches of the atmosphere into a greenhouse...." | aim_trader

26/6/2014 18:11 | Four new hydrogen filling stations in Denmark 06/24/2014 Air Liquide is going to install four new hydrogen filling stations in Denmark, as part of the Copenhagen Hydrogen Network, supported by the European Commission. These four filling stations - two in Copenhagen, one in Aalborg and one in Vejle - will join two stations already in service, located in Copenhagen and in Holstebro. This development is a significant step in the creation of a distribution network at national level. With these filling stations, which will be commissioned by Air Liquide with the help of its partner H2 Logic by the end of 2014, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles will be able to refuel all over the country in under five minutes, for a range of 500 km. All of these filling stations will be fitted with an electrolyser, allowing them to produce the hydrogen on site. This additional technology will produce totally decarbonised hydrogen (with no CO2 emissions) using clean electricity from renewable energy sources as part of the plan announced by the Danish government in 2012, whose target is to have 100% of renewable energies by 2050. Air Liquide is actively involved in setting up the hydrogen energy industry at global level, in particular through initiatives aimed at building hydrogen filling stations in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, the USA, South Korea and Japan. In 2012, Air Liquide inaugurated its first hydrogen filling station for the general public, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Hydrogen helps to preserve the environment by providing solutions for the challenges of sustainable mobility: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as local pollution in urban areas. The creation of a distribution infrastructure is one of the key challenges for the commercial development of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. François Darchis, member of Air Liquide's Executive Committee supervising Innovation, commented: "The creation of a network of hydrogen filling stations in Denmark represents a significant step forward. This is the first hydrogen infrastructure network in Europe at the level of an entire country. This new project is testimony to Air Liquide's commitment to rolling out hydrogen technologies in order to advance sustainable mobility." What's interesting is these will all be electrolyser stations .. Hydrogen generated by electrolysis at the point of use. Despite Air Liquide's ability to manufacture Hydrogen centrally and then truck it to users, this is not going to be the case for FCEV's in the future. Distributed Hydrogen generation is emerging as the best solution. ACTA has now twice hinted at developments in the FCEV market to be announced in H2 2014 - scaling up their Hydrogen production ability, be that as a result of increasing the size of the electrolyser or, amalgamating several units & then the secondary compression to 350bar, from their standard 50bar would seem to be the two technical challenges to overcome. Neither seem at all demanding to achieve in short order. | mattjos

25/6/2014 22:59 | Despite todays bad news it is still being presented as 'good' in some quarters. That suggests to me this is not the cathartic selling climax needed to clear out the stale bulls. Thus I would target a level of c. 2p to be the near term low if the Company can survive at all. I still think a 1p 'distressed' buyout with Management keeping their jobs would be in Managements best interests. | the stigologist

25/6/2014 22:27 | I think it was very very bad form on the part of ACTA to try to bury the 'profit warning' part of todays news towards the bottom of the RNS in the small print effectively having droned on about the prospects for sales in a very ambiguous and vague manner up front. This Management team are tainted with the brush of failure if not more worryingly long running deceit given their consistent over promising and under delivering. With that in mind I suspect they will be unable to get a placing away at anything over 2p now unless the present Management and Board leave. I wonder whether given that scenario their final gambit is to try to sell themselves extremely cheaply in the way of Relion. A similar $4m value as relion would value Acta at about 1p. | the stigologist

25/6/2014 15:40 | to be honest I thought the only bad news coming here was placing at 4p I'm shocked to see that they admit sales cycle has extended (that is a nine year sales cycle now !) That means any placing will now be sub 4p because basically the whole business needs to be re-capitalised | stockhope syndrome

25/6/2014 08:06 | Beat me to it but reposted as VERY MUCH A PROFIT WARNING and also (imo) strong indication of further round of funding needed in the NEAR FUTURE, "The Board is therefore adopting a more cautious stance with regard the rate of this revenue growth for the remainder of 2014, and believes that, due to the risk of delay in converting proposals and opportunities into orders, the revenue performance for the year may be below current market expectations." | pugugly |
