28/6/2007 08:08 | Any Nederlander speakers or translators on this thread (whaddya mean, no)? This article from the Arnhem newspaper - De Gelderlander....... | damanko
28/6/2007 08:04 | This company is on the road to reap huge rewards this year and beyond. | azalea
28/6/2007 08:02 | Couple of interesting lines in the short RNS this morning: * Expectations of additional licence options and agreements and confidence of profitability in current financial year That may well be a surprise to more than a few of us, see how that line goes down. First I've heard of this as well: * Agreement with Fortis, with plans to list the Company's shares on Eurolist by Euronext Amsterdam by end of 2007 Hm......... with the free float being so small, thought there might be a hint of a corporate restructure. This still a surprise though. Wonder how the company is regarded in Arnhem / Holland? Anyone with a link? | damanko
28/6/2007 07:30 | PRELIMINARY RESULTS FOR THE 12 MONTHS ENDED 31 MARCH 2007 (audited) Highlights * Successful construction, commissioning and start up of 30,000 cubic metre commercial AccoyaTM wood production plant in Arnhem * Demand for production capacity for current year and beyond, with trading agreements in place * Large order for AccoyaTM to be used to construct heavy-traffic road bridges, confirms a major new global market opportunity * Immediate plans to double capacity of the Arnhem facility to 60,000 m3 by mid 2009 * Strategic Partnership with Celanese Corporation, including 5.5% equity investment and twenty year long term supply agreement * Licence agency agreement signed with Skanfore S.A., for 500,000 cubic metres capacity giving Euro10 million upfront licence revenue * Expectations of additional licence options and agreements and confidence of profitability in current financial year * Investment in the business resulted in a loss of Euro22.6m (2006: Euro5.0m) after impairment charges of Euro12.4m * Euro27.5 million of liquid financial resources, no debt, before receipt of Skanfore payment * Willy Paterson-Brown, Executive Chairman, takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer as well; Edward Pratt to become 'Senior Advisor, Projects' * Agreement with Fortis, with plans to list the Company's shares on Eurolist by Euronext Amsterdam by end of 2007 * Additional product development progress in wood fibre applications Willy Paterson-Brown, Chairman and CEO, said: "This has been an excellent year for Accsys with progress on many fronts and we have high expectations for 2007/ 8. Accsys has moved from a technology development company to a full scale commercial operator with far reaching potential on a global basis. In AccoyaTM wood, we have a quality product, universally accepted as being of the highest standards with multiple applications." | damanko
27/6/2007 18:00 | Bargain hunters moving in on the dip today. In addition to the ecological pressures, we know from the recent statement that there is a big market out there for the product and it will only take a few more orders to set the share price rolling. Looking further ahead when the U.S. housing market recovers, demand will undoubtedly rise rapidly. | azalea
27/6/2007 16:20 | hey - its not allowed to do this... | asparks
27/6/2007 15:52 | A bit perplexed - seemingly good news about a new licence deal, followed by a slide in share price. Am I missing something... | blott
26/6/2007 08:20 | Whilst its home grown production is important, its getting contracts from companies to cary out the process in their own locations that will do the trick. The factory in Holland could not possibly satisfy world demand. | azalea
26/6/2007 07:29 | I agree, the price is very heady considering the day-to-day trading performance. the price expects fairly significant earnings growth! I do think that the company could do very well, but a prolonged period of consolidation is required together with some good announcements. If the share price continues its upward spiral I will probably get out and thank you for the ride. | flyinghog
25/6/2007 20:14 | Results due out soon; big loss expected as costs only partially offset by a few months production at the pilot plant. Business risk reduction offset by share price over-reach? 10m euro to add to current year turnover is not to be sniffed at but bear in mind 30m euro of earnings is required to justify a pe of 20 and there is no news yet of major production expansion. Mind you, momentum has served the share well so far and who's to say it won't continue to do so. | gwr7
25/6/2007 19:52 | Fryern, Not quite the case. Skanfore have paid 10 million to secure the rights to sell capacity of 500,000 m3 as an Accsys distributor. Clearly Skanfore must be confident they can do this but as yet we have no licencee committed to building its own processing plant. Their selling territory is the Middle East With current capacity sold out however something will have to happen soon! My guess is that the first licensee to commit will be German or BSW in the UK | smiling mickey
25/6/2007 10:11 | All looks good to me, so just bought a few more. Have bought in in several tranches, now quite a (for me) reasonable holding for the long term. The link with Celanese and now this deal all look to me to be building a solid business, looking much less risky. rrr | rrr
25/6/2007 08:55 | This has just increased capacity to 530,000 m3 And put 10m euros in the bank | fryern
25/6/2007 08:32 | Excellent news !! Topped up this morning. Took ages for my broker to buy just 3,322 shares. | the hog
25/6/2007 07:50 | And the other key part: The Company announced in March that commercial production of Accoya(TM) wood at Titan Wood's new 30,000 m3 Arnhem facility was underway. The Company's order books are full through to the end of 2007 and beyond, with production committed into a wide range of different product applications, from civil construction to joinery. First licence revenue has been keenly anticipated. | damanko
25/6/2007 07:49 | Here is the key phrase from the RNS. Have a feeling it may just be another up day................. Terms of the agreement include Skanfore paying a premium of Euro10 million in consideration for the right to market Accoya technology in certain markets, principally outside Europe and North America. The premium is equivalent to 10% of the total technology fee, at list prices, for half a million cubic metres of Accoya(TM) wood production capacity. Skanfore will identify, introduce and lead negotiations for licence agreements for Titan Wood's proprietary Accoya(TM) wood production process and develop new markets for the Company. The agreement involves sales, logistics, financing options, regional product marketing and off-take requirements. The agreement is expected to broaden the scope and capability of the uptake of Accoya(TM) technology around the world. | damanko
25/6/2007 07:10 | Accsys Technologies PLC ("Accsys" or "the Company") announces that its 100% owned subsidiary, Titan Wood Ltd., has signed a licence agency agreement with Skanfore S.A. ("Skanfore"), who will take the rights for a nameplate capacity of 500,000 cubic metres of production of Accoya(TM) wood. | rik shaw
23/6/2007 11:32 | Thanks damanko. I have just read the info you suggested : it's interesting but I'll still be interested if power knows any detail of how the eucalyptus is treated. Thanks for a good thread. Cheers, rrr | rrr
23/6/2007 11:25 | Regarding the last 2 posts, this link should take you to the original placing info back in October 2005. It may answer some of the points you raised. | damanko
23/6/2007 10:11 | power: I wonder if you know how the eucalyptus wood is treated? Accoya wood treatment is claimed to be non-toxic, whereas previous wood treatments tend to involve nasty chemicals - certainly traditional tanalising does (though a quick Google for tanalised took me to Tanalith E, which is said to be non-toxic.) rrr | rrr
23/6/2007 09:58 | I live in Brazil where treated Eucalyptus wood is commonly used. It's guaranteed for at least 15 years, sometimes 20, but builders say its life is really unknown. I wonder how our AXS special technique differs from the Brazilian standard? There may be a parallel business following AXS success. Something we should be alert to. | power
