The debt has not been accrued as a result of either poor performance or all through bad management, the AA debt was created to pay off the Private Equity Firms and load all the debt onto The AA.

This was a scandal and should be investigated by Frank Field.

Bond buy-back starts today, suspect they can now borrow cheaper than existing agreed fixed bond interest, so refinancing debt. Views?

It is known they will need to refinance, that is not disputed. H1 results were in my view indicative of the redirection required. Trading statement implies H2 will be as predicted, reinforcing the above. Debt is/has been the major issue, and will be somewhat easier than may have been before.

Hi Jaknife.

I haven't looked at AA since shorting it from over £1. Looks like they may have turned a corner.

They have a 200m bond due in the summer. They won't have the cash so will need to refinance.

Also surprised no rampers either! A positive sounding update, with the game plan paying dividends it seems. Look forward to the figures in feb.

Reasonable volume today. Tucked a few away into the SIPP, expect a few more breakdown subs as ave age of cars getting a tad older, hoping insurance regulators won't be to damaging, time will tell.

Ridiculous amount of debt accumulated here. Why are they still paying a dividend,Get the debt down instead. Another potential Thomas Cook. How do these company execs get away with it?
