Posted at 30/1/2025 09:39 by geckotheglorious Claverhouse banking on streamlined HSBC HSBC (HSBA) has been a recent winner for JPMorgan manager Callum Abbot, as the banking giant streamlines and becomes a more agile operation. The Citywire Elite Companies A-rated bank is the second largest position in JPMorgan Claverhouse (JC Abbott, who took over the running of the trust last summer after Will Meadon retired after nearly three decades, said HSBC had positively contributed to returns. ‘Positive momentum continued after HSBC announced strategic reorganisation, aimed at simplifying and streamlining the group, which is expected to result in net cost savings and a more agile and efficient operation,’ he said. Although the October Budget heightened volatility in the UK, the economy returned to growth last year. Abbott is ‘optimistic ‘We believe UK equities offer an attractive entry point to the long-term investor, and we remain focused on selecting high-quality, resilient companies that can invest capital at high returns to drive strong and sustainable earnings growth,’ he explained. Posted at 16/1/2025 10:00 by igoe104 Investors contradict themselves constantly. One minute they say never bad to take a profit the next minute they say ride your winners...Too many investors treat their investments like a chart, instead of treating them like a actual business, who actually have employees working for them... |

Posted at 10/1/2025 11:15 by anhar 800 may be a psychological barrier? No it isn't, that's just one of those small investor superstitious beliefs. Pros don't care about round numbers and they make the market. To them, 800 is no more meaningful than 799 or 801 etc. |

Posted at 12/10/2024 17:53 by rampmeister Not invested here but note this company currently qualifies as the holy grail for investors with the double 7. For the uninitiated this is a p/e and dividend both around 7. HSBC has offices in 50 major cities in China more than any other foreign bank. With the multi billion injection from Chinese government into their economy, does the team on this BB think HSBC will benefit?RM |
Posted at 26/9/2024 10:02 by anhar I dislike that habit of some analysts of adding buybacks to divis and showing the resulting "yield" as an ultra high figure, thereby giving an utterly misleading view of a share to the naive.Yield is based on divis as a percentage of the share price and that's all there is to it. Clear, simple, factual in stating what the investor will receive in cash. Views are divided on the merits of BBs but whatever your opinion, they are not part of "yield". |
Posted at 02/8/2024 19:29 by isis I don't follow them that much but Amazon is down 10% less so the others. I know a lot of younger investors don't even bother with the UK and only buy US Trackers and Shares. It's no wonder it's got so high with money going in from everywhere, whereas we struggle to get anywhere near NAV! |
