Following ITX? Look at the discount that Woody had to suffer to unload holding in ITX yesterday - Could this be holders unloading to buy back in at a very substantial discount when or if unload happens?

Guesses as to unload price

I have a feeling something is brewing here but I am waiting to see large volumes coming in. I recon something will be announced as directors have been buying at the recent lows.I have a position here but won't commit more till news of volume comes through.I seems to be a very exciting stock with massive potential

They would be holding the price up in the hope of a placing - I think an MBO would most likely happen if the shareprice collapsed in spite of their efforts because then they would have to give away too much of the business. They have a portfolio of opportunities and my preference would still be to raise the necessary cash from divesting or outlicencing.Don't be too influenced by anything you read on these boards - research and make you own mind up.

Posts on management buying to keep price up ahead of MBO / Placing interesting - any bio / medical examples where this has happened before ?

I am small in this - in part because I dont often invest in such things, still learning.

I work on ~15 holdings of ~5% initially then possible topups or hopefully share price increases. Could indeed be an interesting week next week; AGY/PTSG/IMM/DISH/BOOM and then possibly regretting a rash jump into VEL. It's been interesting reviewing DDDD in more detail again - could be heading to a VC-backed MBO if the Woodford stake is available (and Invesco might be relieved to get out as well). Still can't invest at this level unless there's some commercialisation to fund future R&D.

Ewanwhose - thanks - I misinterpreted your 123 - 1 and half % probably a reasonable gamble then but bargepole - would not touch with - agreed today - You have a great week nest week -

I think he refers to my relatively small weight as a % of my portfolio - not his holding.

Ewanwhose - Holding over 1.5% Over £1M at current prices and if held when you first joined ADVFN were then worth over £4M - Hummmmmmmmmm. Were you ever connected to the coy or in the same industry? if prefer answer off the board by private message.

Agreed re downside risk and directors (who have invested (spent multiple £KKKK) on the shares recently possibly trying to send message - See also 117 above.

Potentially because they are aware that their buying (and news of it) keeps the price up and so the value of their holdings and the potential price of any forthcoming rights or placing. Was invested here (way more than 1.5%) but sold as the downside risk is significant unless they can outlicence something in the next few months.Directors need to be careful not to trade on inside information, so purchases actually mean no news in the immediate future.I continue to watch with interest.

Then why are management spending every penny they can get their grubby little hands on buying shares?

With the largest shareholder unable to cough up further funds and 4 months away from bust, this is a bargepole stock. Unless there is transformative news over the Summer this will fall sub 50p.

Oh dear!! - Just checked shareholders. Woodford!!

Woodford Investment Management 17,514,561 26.74%
Invesco Asset Management Limited 9,163,617 13.99%

So with Woodford effectivly out of business who might stump up funding and at what level??

Will we get good results before the funding runs out? Remember they cannot wait until funds run out - (imo) They say they are working on funding at the moment so potential funders will probably only come in on scalpers terms unless very positive results - At a guess sub 50p if GOOD results no available before cash has to be commited. Not one for widows and orphans at the moment.

What price next funding?

Higher when good results come in.

Management buying shares for a reason....

What price next funding?
"The Directors estimate that the cash held by the Group together with known receivables will be sufficient to support the current level of activities into the fourth quarter of 2019. The Directors are continuing to explore sources of finance available to the Group and have a reasonable expectation that they will be able to secure sufficient cash inflows into the Group to continue its activities for not less than twelve months from the date of approval of these accounts. They have therefore prepared the financial statements on a going concern basis.

Because the additional finance is not committed at the date of approval of these financial statements, these circumstances represent an uncertainty as to the Group's ability to continue as a going concern.

Should the Group be unable to obtain further finance such that the going concern basis of preparation was no longer appropriate, adjustments would be required including to reduce the carrying value of assets to their recoverable amounts, and to provide for future liabilities that may arise.
