Yes you would hope that it was debt free - surprise 3IN didn't spell that out give Infinis won't have the greatest of reputations as it will still be fresh in some people's minds (thankfully I wasn't a loser at the time). But I am reasonably relaxed about it as market seems to be taking it in its stride

It sounds like 3IN have bought a good cash generating business at a reasonable price.

DavR0s - I would think it was bought debt-free (or they'd have said). I seem to remember some divisions of INFI had decent operational performance, but the whole group was debt-riddled.

hTTp://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-10-22/terra-firma-takes-infinis-energy-private-two-years-after-listing "Guy Hands’s buyout firm Terra Firma Capital Partners is to repurchase the shares it doesn’t own in Infinis Energy Plc two years after listing the company in a deal that values the renewable energy generator at about 555 million pounds ($859 million)." £555m down to £185m on a little over 10 months !? A bargain or a value trap?

I must admit I wasn't immediately thrilled by the RNS buying what was originally (to me) a failed IPO with all the remaining cash raised in the summer, and I don't believe private equity ever plan to leave anything on the table for the next person so my defence shields were up at the open. Very little detail in the RNS to form a view on whether shareholders have got a deal or been stiffed. But the market seems pretty sanguine about it so I'll keep holding unless the share price starts to slide

I don't know, rogsim. But that would explain it, perhaps!

Isn't Monterey a SARL investment vehicle owned by Terra Firma?

Buys Infinis plc for £185m. I'm a bit confused. "Infinis plc" is a wholly-owned subsidiary of "Infinis Group", which is itself wholly owned by Terra Firms. And yet the original quoted "Infinis Energy" [INFI] was bought in December by Monterey capital. I never held INFI, but remember it was loaded with debt which cused a lot of trouble.

Hedging doesn't last forever, and if the £ stays weak versus the Euro there should eventually be an uptick in sterling value I would have thought?

Quarterly summary, nothing new: Http://www.investegate.co.uk/3i-infrastructure--3in-/rns/performance-update/201607070700074756D/ Includes: We note the outcome of the UK referendum on EU membership. The assets within the Company's portfolio are largely domestic in the countries in which they are based, and the impact of recent foreign exchange movements were substantially offset by the Company's exchange rate hedging programme. Which suggests no forex winfall.

The basic entitlement would be satisfied by the issue of 213,558,265 shares (ie. 7/26), and they issued 233,333,333 shares. Hence 19,775,068 additional shares shares were issued, which probably implies a significant scaling back. (I don't know my own result yet.) The RNS says: all applications made pursuant to Open Offer entitlements will be met in full. ... The Company has elected to exercise part of the Additional Issue...

The open offer was 7 new shares for every 26 existing shares.

Cheers salchow :)Do you know what the basic entitlement was for the existing shareholders? Have tried to find it but unable to..

Orient - don't forget that existing shareholders including institutions would have their basic entitlement satisfied in full. It is only the excess applications that will have been scaled back.

Same here..i applied for 100,000 and received 34,748. Can't say I'm best pleased with that. Hard to imagine that it was 65% over subscribed! Bet the institutions got their full amount. No wonder a decent bounce in the share price today with the small allocations.

Forgive my earlier post - although HL show me with the requested number of shares at full cost, when I spoke to them they told me that was my application and not my allocation - they can't give me the allocation until Friday so I have no idea how many I have which is a shame given today's rise :(

Rather disappointing allocation via Barclays - I got 3474 from a application for 10,000.

I like these going forward...appear to be a very safe investment offerring decent return to shareholders. I've appled for a decent amount in the capital raising and be interesting to see if i get the full smount. Reckon this will head back towards 180 as soon as the fund raising is complete 👍🏻

There's a technical situation holding it back, I'd say. (Open offer, etc.) Nature of assets and earnings should make this a decent sterling/Brexit hedge.
