Significant fall over and above ex doc effect. Any ideas why?

I think that it should have had a 1.86% impact or thereabouts as the amount was 20p

...we have implemented an alternative regulatory structure, which includes an AIFM in Luxembourg, which has taken over the operations of 3i's existing branches in France, Germany and the Netherlands from 1 April 2019. This new structure will enable 3i to continue its activities in Europe regardless of the form and timing of Brexit. I think most UK asset managers have done the same, with Luxembourg the favoured spot. (There's no requirement to learn Luxembourgish, fortunately!)

I note with interest that a Brexit workaround solution is in place and likely to have minimal or no impact

I don't think stockmarket IPOs are much favoured in Europe, but aren't all that well-informed.

Hopefully the liquidity event will provide corroboration re value of 3i's most valuable investment. All round decent set of full year results.

Yes, interesting. Could result in an IPO of Action maybe?

FY results out. This is the "liquidity event" mentioned earlier: 3i owns 44.3% of Action and also manages Eurofund V ("EFV"), which owns 33.2% of the company. Action is one of two remaining companies in EFV. The final extension of EFV is scheduled to end in November this year. As a result, 3i is working closely with the team at Action to facilitate a transaction that will allow those investors who wish to realise their interest in Action by November 2019 to do so. 3i intends to maintain its current level of exposure in Action and we expect that a number of other investors are likely to retain a substantial part of their holdings.

FWIW. 10/5/17 Share price 828, Price to Book Value 1.50 1/5/18 share price 941, PBV 1.45 29/4/19 share price 1081 , PBV 1.40 From Stocko (stored pages). So not out of sync historically, the collapse around the end of last year probably makes the current share price seem higher than it is.

Interesting day, recovered, meaning there is strong institutional buying support at this level.

Yes the market rally all started when the Fed said there'd be no more rate rises because of slowing growth. So shaky foundations as you say, and meanwhile economic indicators continue to deteriorate. I've taken a few chips off the table and holding a bit of cash.

I'll have a look at that as well. Tough to know what to do at the moment..rally seems like it's built on slightly shaky foundations and Trump seems to think the Fed is a vehicle to inflate the Dow.. might just hold a chunk of cash and see what happens!

CHC15 - one possible alternative: ICG Enterprise Trust, albeit more of a private equity fund of funds with a few direct holdings so not directly comparable. Nevertheles, very good performance, more diversified than 3i and on a near 20% discount.

Ok good one, I'll hold on, as there will be institutions buying at these prices, why would they. mad but true.

So I actually sold a few of mine today (the 500 shares at 1066 at 11:47) .. it's nice to sell into strength and while I still own more and think it will probably continue to perform well, I thought it wise to take some off the table with the premium where it is.

Yes discount retail is not normally a sector I'd be interested in, and they are valuing it on quite a high multiple, I think around 16x ev/ebitda, so that also needs to be considered.
