Presentation this afternoon. Update -



Action: "We expect operating EBITDA for the 12 months to the end of P9 2023 to be circa €1,530 million compared to €1,036 million at the end of September 2022."
But that's aggregate. LfL will be more challenging.

Agree with that, I still maintain that there are global institutions that are yet to discover 3i and Action, and shall be buying new at these levels. May explain the momentum here.

I'll stick my oar in with a prediction. 2300p by Christmas Day. A mere 10% in three months. We've floated around 20 for long enough. Normal service will resume. Gla.

Recent performance has been strong. Maybe wishful thinking but can't see Action slowing down any time soon. They really do seem to have a textbook operating model and plenty of geographic expansion opportunities, plus given their working capital model gives opportunity to gear up pay dividends and pay off debt in short order.Rest of 3i portfolio seems in good shape too, but less spectacular than Action

Simon Borrows will be looking at Action's long term growth opportunities and current growth rate and the cash flows and very quickly conclude there is barely any price that could convince him to sell Action to invest the huge proceeds in something with better potential.

I don't think 3i will dispose of any Action stake anytime soon. These euro director buys are strong signs it is doing better than thought. Also institutional demand is still strong here at these levels.

AGM statement;

3i Group plc ("3i") will be holding its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") this morning. At the AGM, Simon Borrows, our Chief Executive, will provide an update on the portfolio.



Action has continued to deliver very strong sales growth in the year to date. Like-for-like sales growth was 22% year to date as at the end of week 25 and net new stores openings of 84 are on track with its expansion plans and ahead of the 75 stores opened in the same period last year. Action's strategy to deliver an outstanding quality customer offering at the lowest price remains the Company's top priority and continues to draw high customer footfall across all of its geographies. Action is set for another good quarter of profit growth and has a cash balance in excess of €660 million.

The remainder of the Private Equity portfolio continues to demonstrate resilience with the majority of the portfolio trading well. Lower customer demand and inflation pressures continue to impact a small proportion of the portfolio. Despite the macro-economic headwinds we remain confident that the 3i active management approach will build consistent value creation across the portfolio over the longer term.

"Resilience" is a much-used word these days.
